Sci-Fi Family Drama
Kyle Q , May 8, 2022
Saga is part space opera, part fantasy, part family drama. The book follows parents Alana and Marko, soldiers from opposite sides of a brutal galactic war between their respective planets, Landfall and Landfall’s moon Wreath. The two fall in love and Alana gives birth to their daughter Hazel, who narrates the series. The series follows the young fugitive family as they travel from planet to planet, chased by soldiers, bounty hunters, journalists, and various other entities desperate to get their hands on the family. Saga is, at its core, a refugee drama about a family searching for a place they can live in peace.

Great story, "damaged" product
Derived From Web , Feb 13, 2021
It interrupts the reading experience and just messes the book.

Top-notch series, this version is great for a budget buy
Derived From Web , Feb 14, 2020
This review is not about the quality of the story. For that, read any of the rave reviews. Instead, I focus on what the paperback - compendium - binding version is like, since not a lot of other comics get this exact treatment. It is true that it is not the ideal format for fans of the series, personally I bought the trade paperbacks as they came out and I prefer this version for the ease of reading and looking great on the shelf. But man, this is a great option for what I did for my non-comic-reading college-age brother, and not really knowing whether he'd be that into it. You get the full story, full color, all at an awesome price. Yes, it is unwieldy to read, it came a little bent up, and it probably won a ton of wear and tear. But bottom line, I'm really glad that this version exists. To get more people into B.K. Vaughan material, and to let me give it as a gift without breaking the bank ).

Well Worth the Price
Derived From Web , Sep 24, 2019
Although Am@ zon is an awful company and I ship my comics, books and media almost in easily damagedable packages, I am still happy that I own it. The entire series up to this day, collected in one volume, makes this fantastic for people wanting to jump on Saga when it comes back. Though the book may come damaged, if you are looking to get into the hottest comic book of this decade, start here. The Saga is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to all my friends and family. I own all the hardcovers which are beautiful so my main use of this will be recreational reading outside my home or lending it to people who are interested.

Not Built to Last but Good Reading
Derived From Web , Sep 20, 2019
Normally, I am a digital reader, but decided to buy this tome for the sheer satisfaction of seeing the beautiful art in print. There was no dissatisfaction there, but the pre-read condition was pretty bad, as others have stated. I would not buy again and I will not buy future releases if they are like this.

Buy this Compendium to Read it, not to Collect it
Derived From Web , Sep 18, 2019
Saga is great and this compendium is a fantastic way to read a large chunk of it at once. If you're looking for a collector's item to put on a shelf and keep in near mint condition, this particular collection is not for you. It is a softcover book that weighs 4.5 pounds and Amazon is literally shoving it in a bubble mailer for shipping. There is no box or shrink wrap, so expect it to arrive in the cover with bent corners and dents. For the purposes of diving in and reading without concern for the book's condition, this is a great deal for the price.

Amazing story, disappointing packaging
Derived From Web , Sep 17, 2019
You want to have this story on your shelf, it is a must-have. But... maybe get a hardcover edition, unless you're okay with it. If you don 't care about appearances, this compendium is probably the cheapest version you get. Either way, BUY SAGA!

All issues in one book to catch up but a cheaper material book.
Derived From Web , Sep 14, 2019
No doubt, great story. But the war came damaged, which was disappointing. If you can purchase a book at a store or wait for a hardcover, I recommend that. The book also builds a very thin style. Unlike the walking dead compendiums, which are stronger.

Three stars because I wish it had arrived in better shape.
Derived From Web , Sep 12, 2019
There were no complaints about the content of the book. I read some of Saga in digital form and absolutely love it. However, the book arrived in a condition that is disappointing. This is a massive book and I don 't understand why it was not shrinkwrapped to provide a basic level of protection from being handled in the warehouse. My copy arrived with some rolled corners and the cover has marks like it was deceived a conveyor. It's a trade so that it is meant to be read and carried, but I wish it hadn 't arrived pre-worn.

Came damaged
Derived From Web , Sep 11, 2019
Saga is an excellent series and is definitely worth the read. However, this Compendium was sent in a bag and was severely bent in shipping, and some pages were damaged, making me think that it was probably used at some point. I 'd have shot for a digital version or a hardcover version.
