This heartwarming story is sure to be a hit with fans of E. B. White's Charlotte's Web and Kate DiCamillo's Because of Winn-Dixie. --School Library Journal (starred review)
Creech packs a tremendous amount of emotion between the lines of her understated prose. Animal lovers in particular will relish Louie's hard-won triumphs and find joy in Winslow's strength. --Publishers Weekly (starred review)
Woven into this narrative is a convincing portrayal of human growth and blossoming--the story is told simply but subtly, celebrating the unexpected strength of the vulnerable. --Horn Book (starred review)

Adorable book that made my daughter love reading every page!
Derived From Web , Apr 30, 2021
My 10 year old hates reading, though she is really good at it. She reads 2 12 grades above her primary school level. She died from the mundane books assigned by her teacher. Her teacher then told her to purchase or borrow this book from the library, and my daughter LOVED this book! Thank you Sharon for writing a book that my daughter actually fell in love with!

My child loves animals and has a big heart, so he fell in love with the story. I heard him say, Awww, several times while reading, I heard him giggle and I may have seen a little tear a time or two. We will definitely read more from this author!

I really liked this story I bought three different books, from the same author, after If you like to read stories of love for animals, their bonds with humans and reminders to think positive '', then this is a grab for you and yours. I really liked the development of each character in this book '' and I feel that many teens can relate to these characters, as well.

Loved it!
Derived From Web , Sep 16, 2018
Sharon Creech's Saving Winslow is a Heartprint book that is told masterfully. And while this is a story about saving a donkey, Creech has woven so much more. It is a story about a boy who struggles to find his purpose, a girl who is afraid to love and a family that misses a son who is away serving our country. I highly recommend ''.
