Good, with Room for Improvement
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2022
This is a great book to read over the summer to improve your skills. As a curriculum specialist, I can see where improvement is needed, but I think the authors tried hard to create an inviting, comprehensive resource for building skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, math, science, and other language arts, with ethnically diverse characters and contemporary themes. My granddaughter, who is going into first grade, uses this book frequently and skillfully in guided lessons and independent work. The publications of the School Zone staff are error-free. There were too many mistakes in the English language. I work as a technical writer, curriculum specialist, and professional editor. A set of eagle eyes can help you avoid substandard presentations.

Great educational tools! Maybe more for beginner 1st graders!
Derived From Web , Apr 28, 2021
The book is great. She loves it! I was worried that my granddaughter might be falling behind because of all the time she's been out due to Covid. I was surprised that this book was easy for her. She finished her first grade year in 2 days and read the book. I was surprised that it wasn't more challenging since it was supposed to be for 2nd graders. I think I will move her to the 3rd graders. Great books.

Great book for a lot of first grade subjects!
Derived From Web , Jan 25, 2021
My 6 year old son is in first grade. This book is used for a good portion of his work in language, science and reasoning. We use other books to go along with it, and they cover a great variety. The book is in color. The pages and art are engaging and make his learning easier. We use the other books to get a lot of work done on the topics since it seems to cover everything he needs to know. When I set the weekly curriculum for what we are working on, I flip through the pages to see what pages would be good to work on. We'll be finishing the book over the course of the year. This is one of the books that I buy for my kids to use. I think it's a great idea.

Great book, not great packing.

The book was a great one, but it was damaged. It seems like it was damaged before packing and they still included it. I docked a star because it was a gift and it was disappointing to receive damaged.
