Come play evolutionary fetch with Andy Hirsch in this volume of Science Comics, an action-packed nonfiction graphic novel series for middle-grade readers

How well do you know our favorite furry companion? Did they really descend from wolves? What's the difference between a Chihuahua and a Saint Bernard? And just how smart are they? Join one friendly mutt on a journey to discover the secret origin of dogs, how genetics and evolution shape species, and where in the world his favorite ball bounced off to.

Every volume of Science Comics offers a complete introduction to a particular topic--dinosaurs, coral reefs, the solar system, volcanoes, bats, flying machines, and more. These gorgeously illustrated graphic novels offer wildly entertaining views of their subjects. Whether you're a fourth grader doing a natural science unit at school or a thirty year old with a secret passion for airplanes, these books are for you

   Fun way to learn
She enjoyed the story being told by a dog and learned lots of new information about dogs. She also asked for the cat version as well.

I liked the Dinosaur Science Comics book better
For sure, very informative, but not as kid-friendly, as the first science book I read with my daughter. I was hoping for a broader, more fun, overall approach for my 8-year-old.

I was extremely satisfied to say the least
I was looking for a science-y comic that met my expectations for researched-backed facts, combined with an engaging story line. I was extremely satisfied to say the least, so I gave it to my 7-year-old for the final test. She loved it definitely and gave it an A++. Then the others requested in this series!

FANTASTIC series of books --- graphic novels but with science education instead of fiction plots
Gorgeous illustrations by the artist. I have read the Dogs, the Volcanoes, the Plague, the Dinosaurians and the Bats editions of Science & Comics. The best dogs, Dinosaurians and Bats are. There is something for all ages to learn and enjoy. What I like the best is the historical notes and how various theories are presented. I enjoyed the series of Zoo Books as a kid and I think these science comics are even better than those.
