This book is by far the best offering for yoga studies that I have come across. The breakdown of the anatomy involved with each pose elevates my practice and gives me a deeper understanding of the body.

A book every yoga teacher needs on their shelf.

I love this book ''. With the Pandemic, I was finally able to sign up for a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and this book has been such a game changer in understanding poses. In addition to the yoga lover, I am also a nurse. And this book has helped me better understand anatomy than my first courses in the nursing school. The images are so detailed and she really explains what action the muscles should take with the poses.

I didn't know that a book could improve my yoga practice so much!
Derived From Web , Nov 15, 2019
What I learned the most from this book is how all muscles work together and I am able to feel them actually in my body. I am glad that the muscle images don 't look so gross and scary like most anatomy books! The thing I love most about this book is that I am never a yoga teacher, but I can still learn about the science of yoga and how it works. This book motivates me to practice . I didn 't know that a book could so much improve my yoga practice!

Good accessible book
Derived From Web , Aug 22, 2019
A great simple anatomy text for use in studying yoga. Although I had the privilege to study human anatomy over 30 years ago, it is good to have a very simple reference as a reminder. It also allows you to build a picture of what happens in poses as you instruct. Would recommend as a basic guide to anyone serious about their yoga practice who wants to study more about how it works in Western medical terms.

In an effort for pretty layout made words difficult to see
Derived From Web , Jun 25, 2019
I'm very disappointed in this book. It appears that in an effort to do medium grey '' layouts, they have often used pretty text. This text is VERY difficult to read when it is on the light blue or grey background, unless you are in very bright light. On the remaining white pages it is still difficult to read in dimmer light, and on some poses pages the text is very small and light grey. The result is that I can 't really read a large majority of the book in the evenings, Maybe they should have used black font on white background, made the pictures smaller or added a few additional pages. I like the anatomy part in the front of the book, but this information will be a bit too deep and scientific for many. I would have liked more poses covered. The addition of a kind of reference table of muscle, joint and other body systems affected by each pose would have also been helpful. This way I could look at what poses I wanted to do when planning my yoga session to target certain areas.

The book is great!! HOWEVER,
Derived From Web , Apr 12, 2019
This book is great! When you try to see the muscle in the image of the one they speak in the text, however, you can not see it because it is in the crease of the book. I wish there was a spiral version so that I can see the entire image! But I really do love the book the book, but I really do love the book.
