This is an interesting world and I like it. It was different from other books that I have read. I devoured this book and couldn't wait to get my hands on the next one because of the fantastic characters like Rowan and Citra. Would 1000% recommend these to a friend.

Just kind of simple.

I understand that this is a classic, but it just feels like everything I'm reading is superficial and meaningless. Being in a new world and learning about it doesn't have anything going for it. I got almost half of the way through the book before I wanted to finish the book. I don't know, I suppose I was expecting more philosophy than murder.

Pageturner
Derived From Web , Apr 1, 2020
Scythe is one of the best books I have read in a long time. If you can pick up the writing style, you can enjoy reading it and still provide plenty of detail. I would recommend this book to others. The next book in the series will leave you wanting to pick it up.

It has been a long time since a book caught my attention in this way. I couldn't put it down. I finished the book in two days, and it hooked me. It has a fascinating concept, great characters, and moves at a nice pace. During my reading of this book, I didn't start skimming a page to hurry things along. That is the best compliment I can give it.

You won’t regret this read.

I am glad I bought this book because it is so out of the norm. This book is amazing. Every disease and impairment has been cured across the globe in a world where humans are immortality. Scythes were specially selected to keep the population under control. It is a sci-fi novel. I can't recommend it enough.

Pleasant young adult fiction. But the premise doesn’t hold together. This ain’t Larry Niven.
Derived From Web , Aug 29, 2018
It is a pleasant book. You have to suspend your disbelief to read it. A society that has conquered mortality resorts to institutional murder by a flawed group to control population, instead of simply limiting the birth rate Nobody smuggles their relations away for the black market rejuvenation. It's hard to get past that for me.

A future we could be heading towards, good read
Derived From Web , Jul 16, 2018
Really enjoyed the future world. The small details that the author came up with made the society realistic to me. I loved maze runner, an ember in the ashes and hunger games so I was looking for a good summer read that was similar. It had action, drama, a subtle romance that was not annoying, and strong characters. There is a character for boys and girls to relate to. Can't wait to read the next book.

I purchased this and its audio a long time ago. I decided to try this because I was between books in a heavy series. I immediately grabbed book 2 instead of going back to the other series. What a series! I look forward to the second in 2019.

Astounding Read
Derived From Web , Dec 13, 2017
The author is a master at world building. This novel had a lot of thought put into it. I could not put it down. It faced a lot of morality issues and flaws within an immortality, it was a thought provoking piece. I can't wait for the sequel to find out where he takes Citra and Rowan.
