great 1st grade common core review

This book has been perfect for my daughter, who is between first and second grade. She can do 5 pages in 30 minutes. It has been great for her to keep her mind active during the summer. I don't know if there is anything in this book that she didn't already know in first grade, but for us in Oregon it is a god review of the common core curriculum that was taught to the first graders. The pages are thick and colorful, and they don't feel flimsy. We will try the brand again after we get this product.

Excellent workbook to maintain learning skills from school

My child is entering the 1st grade and so I decided to get the Second grade book instead of the 1st grade one. My child was learning the same things in the First Grade as this second grade book. I was surprised to see such rapid learning in public schools, but I guess that's what the Common Core learning program is for. My child is currently in class and I wanted to parallel what she was learning in class with the pages I selected from each section. The education already received is reinforced by the workbook.

I got this book as a warm up for the summer break because my daughter is going in to 2nd grade this year. The instructions are clear, the sections are clear, and the work is fun. She feels like it's too much work because she's learning so hard.

This is a really great workbook. The child is given a lot of pages on a single topic. This is a good way to recap what was taught. The reading passages are easy for a second graders to understand.

Between kindergarten and first grade last year, I had my little guy do just one worksheet per day from a similar type of workbook. I thought it might be helpful to keep him in the routine of doing just a small amount of school work because he has a difficult time with transitions. He was probably better prepared for 1st grade when he asked one worksheet of him. I'm going to do the same thing with this 2nd grade book this summer. He's already completed a few pages for fun, and they were enjoyable for him and also a bit of a challenge, which we both like!

When schools shut down due to the COVID situation, I ordered this book and three other educational materials for my son. The rest of my order arrived within a week, but this book took nearly a month to arrive. The material in the book looks good and covers a wide range of topics. The new book looks like it has been painted in. The majority of the book is still usable, but there are a number of pages that were painted on and stuck together, resulting in tears and rip on some pages.
