Book Overview

American Horse Publications - FIRST PLACE - Equine Fiction. Feathered Quill - GOLD Award. Readers Favorites - GOLD Award. Twelve-Year-Old SELAH (Say-la) aspires to be an equestrian superstar. That would require a horse. HER DILEMA: Grandpa wants nothing to do with horses. THEN: Selah sees buzzards circling the grasslands behind Grandpa's farm. They are stalking a horse trapped in wire and Selah is its only hope. DANGEROUS: The horse is wild and defiant - jeopardizing Selah's dreams. FOILED: The legal owner searched for the horse for two years and wants it back. BUT: Selah is confident that God will provide her heart's desire. MEMORIES: Grandpa shows Selah a video, from long ago, of a phenomenal equestrian. Selah declares that she wants to be like her and Grandpa explains the rider was her grandmother. HOPE: A world renowned horse trainer offers to train SweetDream and Selah. FOILED AGAIN: Her parents could ruin everything unless Sweet Dream's unruly behavior ruins it first. LOST: Selah's opportunity to mirror the equestrian talent of her renowned grandmother evaporates when the horse causes mayhem at the trainer's facility. NEVER GIVE UP: Will Selah gather her courage and face up to the trainer to save her aspirations?

More than just a girl loves horses book!
A very well written book which is not only a good story with many twists and turns, but is also written by someone with knowledge of horse training. The ability to get inside the head of the horse and the girl, and also give a peek into the world of professional horse trainers makes this book stand above other girl dreams of getting a horse tale. The Christian references throughout the book are refreshing and it is nice to read a book which encourages determination and integrity in a wholesome family life setting. I highly recommend this book and would look forward to more work by this author.

It doesn't deserve even one star.
The book is being published by Simon & Schuster Christian Publishing. I did not have a problem with that until I got to 52. He cited a passage from the Bible that revealed a great cruelty to sheep that was not necessary to the story. I would never let my animal-loving granddaughter read this. The book was in the trash.

   Good storyline for young girls
I ordered two because my Grandaughter and I could have a book club. Half done, but it is a good clean story line for young girls, PG-13. Very pleased with the service.

   Good, Wholesome Reading
My granddaughter and I are huge fans of the series of books. The book has arrived. Amazon also sells the book on its Kindle. We Zoom and talk about what we are reading. Our own little book club. She absolutely loves them, she said.

   My review
I was very reluctant to read this book and now regret those actions. I can't say enough good things about this book, as it made me cry! Now I understand that you don't need to like topic to like a book. It matters about what you learn from it and this piece of literature truly shows it. I really hope that somebody in search of a good book will surely choose this one, Hugo said. I love this book and I hope you enjoy it too.
