Book Overview

Shadow Jumper is winner of the Gold Award in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2014. A thrilling mystery adventure with contemporary themes, for children aged 10 and above. The truth is out there somewhere . . . but how far will Jack jump to find it? Jack Phillips's allergy to sunshine confines him to the shadows, leaving him lonely and at risk of life-threatening burns every time he steps into the light. Shadow jumping on the rooftops at dusk makes him feel alive. And free. But Jack's condition is suddenly worse than ever and only his missing scientist dad can save him. As Jack and his new friend, Beth, begin their frantic search and delve into his dad's past for clues, they have no idea what they are about to uncover. Shocking rumours and dark secrets bombard them at every turn. Shadow Jumping takes courage. But when it comes to the truth, will Jack be brave enough to face it?

wonderful lessons to learn in this book
It is not what I liked about this book, but what my 12 year old granddaughter learned.

   Very good book!!! :)
I absolutely love the second one, too. The fifth season finale will be filled with drama, plot, twists, and even a few surprises. It also uses nice language. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever read it. Overall, I'm very pleased with the book.

   Quick Ending
I chose a four star rating because it was very exciting throughout the entire book. The English writer's witty word choice for the first line of the story "was clever." The book is a great example of how to properly use the English language. However, I thought the story was over fairly quickly without an explanation for a couple of events.

   So Good!!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I was not a huge fan of the first season. I would love to read more of your work. It was a good mix of mystery and friendship, he said. ELENA EROZ, 20, was charged with beating up a boy in the stairwell.

My 10 year old loved it
He's a big kid, so he enjoyed it, the writer said. You must have read the whole thing in a day, couldn't put it down!

   Jack's problems almost overwhelm him--
He's desperate that he find a friend who will accept him as he is. But things go wrong for Jack when his parents split up. Nobody knows for sure who his father is. His skin is so sensitive to the sun it has to be very careful or it breaks out in painful sores. His life is a total disaster. In a desperate plea for help, he asked, "Where is my father?" The network is down and we're not talking about AOL. Matt and his new friend Beth, also in need of a friend, set off on their own to find the killer.
