Fun Companion to the Harriet film (2019)
Derived From Web , Dec 15, 2019
This book by the distinguished historian and scholar Erica Dunbar is a nice little book that gives a good overview of Harriet Tubman's background and activities. It goes beyond the basic knowledge you might have learned in a history class and delivers it in a hip and modern way, as you can see by the title. I expected this to be more of a typical academic treatment and it was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend it especially for younger people or anyone interested in Harriet Tubman's story and legacy.

I am a Tubman groupie ''. I'm also a first person presenter, so I read as much as I can about her. A religious experience could have been described as a good experience '' when I visited her museum, a National Park Service site in Cambridge near Church Creek, MD a few weeks ago.

Excellent book written by a fine historian

I had seen the movie twice and know that they have to take some liberties. This well-written book, filled in many details, was not covered in the movie. I had read other biographies by Harriet in the long run, but this one was so well written and researched that I will definitely pass it on.
