Book Overview

In times of crisis, countless women have turned to Simple Abundance for comfort and joy -- and now this mega-bestselling guide is updated and expanded for everyone who loved the original book, as well as a new generation that needs it now more than ever.

First published in 1995, Simple Abundancetopped the New York Times Bestseller list for over two years and is responsible for introducing two hugely popular concepts -- the Gratitude Journal and the term Authentic Self. With daily inspirational meditations and reflections, the Simple Abundance phenomenon became a touchstone for a generation of women, helping them to reclaim their true selves, find balance during life's busiest moments, and rediscover what makes them truly happy.

Simple Abundance's powerful messages are needed now more than ever, as we navigate the discord and stress instigated by a constant stream of breaking news cycles, and our 24/7 social media culture. Sarah Ban Breathnach has refreshed her bestselling phenomenon to address the needs of a new generation, with her signature candor, wit, and wisdom that made her a trusted and compassionate confidant for millions of women.

A perennial classic whose time has come again, Sarah's work celebrates quiet joys, simple pleasures, and well-spent moments and reminds us how to find the beauty in the everyday.

I absolutely LOVE the 25 year edition, as well as my original from 1995!
Abundance is one of my all time favorite books. I was thrilled to be gifted the 25th anniversary copy as a Christmas present in 2019," she said. I'm from Caerphilly. Sarah was due to appear at the Inside Edge in March, but Covid hit and the engagement had to be called off. I savored the first copy for years and the new edition is equally meaningful and filled to the brim with heart and soul, fresh essays, Raymond said. I am in awe of the depth and feeling of what she so succinctly shares, as well as the wonderful quotes that are perfect fits to what she writes. I highly recommend this book to anyone. The only regret I have is that the publisher didn't include the ribbon as a book mark.

   New Isn't Always Improved
The previous version of this book was so much better. The new features make it more difficult to read. It feels stilted, forced and not at all authentic. I highly recommend if you can get your hands on the earlier version, which I have been reading since 2011, and you have some time to think about it. It's a lot of fun, I think, to be a kid again." The question is how would people react? The second edition was for me and my 13 year old because I was constantly sharing great nuggets of information from the original book with her. This edition is disappointing, Penguin said. New ideas are never exactly what they seem. And I'm sorry to Sarah Banbach for not liking this one. The earlier version was perfection, the French said. You can't improve on perfection, Tunick said.

A good effort of updating an indispensable daybook.
It has had a special place on the bookshelf for over 20 years. Only in the "Book of Revelation" did it have footnotes that highlighted and annotated the entire book. The new edition of "The Fifth Estate" is now titled "The Fifth Estate." She has a gift of writing in a beautiful and communicative way, Raymond said. It's personal, AOL said. It's great to be back home, read an essay, and contemplate the 6 Graces. Thanks for the update, Robert. Except for the ribbon bookmark, I miss the whole thing.

What if you DON'T have your health or ability to walk and participate in life?
I haven't read that many passages, but I was stopped by her questions, in summing up one's blessings She asks if you have your health. She asks if I can take a walk and participate in activities that make me happy. I was looking for positive ways to view life, he said. Many people reading the book may be challenged with mobility issues or serious illness. The author may want to pen a book with a broader audience in mind.

   A life changing book
I received the first SA when it came out. It changed my life, Tunick said. I was angry at work, stuck in a job I didn't like and trying to create a happier life by following personal interests, he said. Gratitude journaling has helped me to put my anger to rest. It went on from there, said Goodrich, director of NASA's Ames Research Center in California. I did the original SA all the way thru, and used it as a pick me up at other times. I was single at the time and am single again, he said. Even if I could relate to the day-to-day essays, I couldn't imagine how they would be written. We all struggle with the same basic issue of how to be happy, Raymond said. I look forward to going thru the new SA all the way again!!!!!!!!!

   No ribbon this edition.
I'm excited to be back with the boys, said Blair. There is no ribbon bookmark for this book. The other made it so pretty and useful, even for people who couldn't afford it.

The feminine antidote for our troubled world.
As one of the first to discover the original Abundance and share it as a gift with countless soul sisters, I am overjoyed that this new book is already exceeding even my own highest expectations. In a time of deep despair and anguish, no woman should be ashamed to give back to the world through her work, a portion of its lost heart. In her book, The Sarah Jane Adventures of Louise Bogan, Mrs Clinton writes, "I begin to wonder what could possibly be in store for me next year." In addition, I ordered 14 copies of the book as holiday gifts for my dearest friends.
