Sullivan highlights powerful ways that you can better connect with people. Simply Said is a quick read that will help you improve the quality of your communications and become a more effective leader.
--Stephen R. Howe, Jr., US Chairman and Americas Managing Partner, Ernst & Young
Effective communication is absolutely critical to successful leadership. Sullivan reminds us that when we're communicating, audiences are listening to hear one thing: what does this mean for me? Simply Said is a candid guide to improve our ability to connect with others, and as a result, improve our impact as communicators and leaders.
--Tom Bradley, President of Retail, TD Ameritrade
Jay Sullivan's approach to communication--and the virtues of this book--extend well beyond how to speak and write more clearly. Embedded within is a deeper philosophy of leadership rooted in attentiveness to others that is both appealing and compelling. This book is a valuable resource to those who are, or aspire to be, leaders.
--Eduardo M. Peñalver, Allan R. Tessler Dean and Professor of Law, Cornell Law School

Useful tips, needs good editing
Derived From Web , Oct 23, 2018
The book has a lot of content, Rowling said. From presentations, to how to communicate with our customers, to how to delegate to other, it will take some time to learn everything. The book gives a good overview of each element of business communication. The book gives an in-depth look at each facet of communication, from introductory notes to more advanced discussions. The layout is useful and some of the examples provided support to the presented suggestions. The book needs some editing. Less is more. Because the book touches on some very different forms of communication, it doesn't really get deep into each form. It's a shame, said Blair. If some sections of the book were left out, other sections could be explored more deeply. In fact, the writer of the first chapter, "The Blacklist," works for a training company. The annoying part is that it feels like you're reading a brochure. The book is now considered lost. Some paragraphs are repeated as if they were written in a single sentence. A French word for "to be." It's just that some text may appear twice.

Great Read!

I have read every book except for this one. The book is divided into four sections: verbal, written, and even toasts. The author is obviously laying groundwork for consulting services, but if the services provide additional insight into communication strategies, they are worth it, he said.

Excellent Read for Recent Graduates and Seasoned Professionals
Derived From Web , Aug 7, 2017
Simply put, I found this book to be very useful. As a former journalist and lawyer, I have studied and practiced communication and client skills in the classroom, the newsroom and the courtroom. This book, with wonderful stories from members of the ExecComm team, helped me approach asking -- and answering -- these questions in a different way." This is a great present for recent graduates and seasoned professionals.

Effective ideas and examples to help your communication!
Derived From Web , Jan 19, 2017
The book is a great introduction to communication. As a communication consultant and adjunct professor interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds, I find that the theme of focusing on others when communicating resonates with all audiences. Simply Said provides many best practices and examples to showcase the techniques Jay Sullivan shared with IBM. It's also a handy reference guide when preparing for business meetings, presentations, and writing documents.
