With 75 of her most-loved recipes for sweet and savory pies--such as Toasted Marshmallow-Butterscotch Pie and Sour Cherry-Bourbon Pie--and other bakeshop favorites, the Sister Pie cookbook pays homage to Motor City ingenuity and all-American spirit. THE BEST PIE CRUST RECIPE
Derived From Web , Jul 13, 2019
The fillings for the pies are not only creative, but also incredibly delicious. The brandy pecan pie and the Minced Pear Pie are two of the most delicious creations in the book. Ludwinski also has some pretty unique cookie recipes and breakfast options and a variety of amazing local recipes. Highly recommend this book and suggest memorizing the recipe for the pie dough - you won 't regret it.

I do not bake, but I live in Detroit and love their pie. If you can bake, I suggest it, because all their treats are so tasty in real life. If I ever try to bake the first thing out of this book will be lol.

I love this book

I made several pies from this book and they’ve been all fantastic. For those who are bothered by volume and weight, I own the Baker's appendix by Jessica Reed and keep it in my kitchen. I often use it to convert the volume to weight.

Superb! Perfect for a first-timer learning how to bake pie!
Derived From Web , Dec 26, 2018
I never baked a cake before and wanted to learn how - and I am thrilled that I got this book. It shares a wonderful story behind the bakery and the technique recipes are beautiful and easy to follow. I ever baked my first pie and it came out absolutely amazing. Way better than I've imagined a first attempt would be. The crust first expands in the oven, almost like a puff pastry, developing flakiness and volume, and then slowly hardens into a firm and crisp crust. I am really excited to dig deeper into the recipes and perfect the method. I think this is a perfect book for anyone who wants to learn how to make pies or even improve their knowledge about pie making.

I tend to maintain a low-carb lifestyle, but let me tell you, my willpower was crap when I bake against this book and their recipes. I made their crust, which created such a wonderful, flaky, pliable dough, so great and sturdy that I made a braid in the lattice and was beautiful. I made the salted maple, apple sage gouda and cranberry crumble for thanksgiving and were a huge hit! Overall, one of the best bake books I bought that year, if not the best bake book. Can 't wait to bake more pies and cookies from this bakery. I now want to go to Detroit.
