Book Overview

In this YA contemporary queer romance from the author of Hot Dog Girl, an openly gay track star falls for a closeted, bisexual teen beauty queen with a penchant for fixing up old cars.

Earnest, wistful, romantic, and real. --Casey McQuiston, New York Times bestselling author of Red, White & Royal Blue

Morgan, an elite track athlete, is forced to transfer high schools late in her senior year after it turns out being queer is against her private Catholic school's code of conduct. There, she meets Ruby, who has two hobbies: tinkering with her baby blue 1970 Ford Torino and competing in local beauty pageants, the latter to live out the dreams of her overbearing mother. The two are drawn to each other and can't deny their growing feelings. But while Morgan--out and proud, and determined to have a fresh start--doesn't want to have to keep their budding relationship a secret, Ruby isn't ready to come out yet. With each girl on a different path toward living her truth, can they go the distance together?

Beautiful, necessary, and completely irresistible. --Becky Albertalli, New York Times bestselling author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

   First love and coming out
He also said that although the book was "sweet," it lacked "great pacing and good writing." But Rudy and Morgan quickly realize that communication is the key to success. PG-13 rated.
I have this book replaying in my head. It has a very dark blue backing when you take it off the printed cover. Its an absolutely amazing book, not cringey, unrealistic or s3xualized, Hachette said. Its a story of a complicated and realistic crush to closet romance. sort of an enemy to type things, Haviv said. there is drinking, smoking, parental abuse, mention of s3x and homophobia, and no mention of condoms.
   Pretty Good Book!
In "Finding and Figuring Out Sexuality," Blair explores the many ways in which people can explore and find themselves. It was lovely, and I think it was great for all ages no matter where you are in your coming out process.
   Loved this book
I've read all the books except for this one. As a queer person who has had issues with schools due to my identity, it was so comforting to read. I've seen trailers, but I'm not a huge fan of the real thing. I really liked the show and I wish them the best. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
   Sweet sapphic YA romance
I really enjoyed the music, said Blair. I've read a couple stinkers in sapphic YA romance lately, so I was relieved to read a good one! Morgan is a very out and proud, idealistic high school athlete with supportive parents, and she falls for Ruby who is really not in a safe situation family-wise. Morgan has a hard time understanding why Ruby doesn't want to be out, but she eventually learns and does the right thing in the end.
What a wonderful surprise! The depth and variety of female characters make this a truly exceptional YA story. The book is so perfectly paced, storytelling is implemented in all the right places so it never feels boring or like the conflict is taking too long to resolve, he said.
   Kept me sane
I read this book while on a trip with my mother, whom I have not come to yet. It was a great read, kept me sane, Raymond said. Just bought the second book in the series, "The Fifth Estate." Great read, Easy to follow.
   So very good
Only a day did I realize how much I had missed this book. 0 1462228 It only took me a day to read this book because I couldn't put it down. Mr. Daschle hooked me right from the start. Goodreads has over 1.5 million members who have read the book. If you read this, I took their advice and hope you'll take it. In a review of the book, The Age of Persuasion, Simon Wiesenthal said: "Both are excellent books.
   A great book!
So this book has excellent pacing, great story telling, and an adorable cast, Simon says. The characters, while well rounded on their own interact in a perfect rom com idea of talking, have their reasons for not communicating well. This is a perfect fast summer read for a super sweet, well written queer lover story. Its realistic and gives a good message of setting boundaries and respecting others, Levine said.
