Book Overview

In celebration of Mother Teresa's beatification in October of 2003, HarperOne is proud to present a new edition of the classic work that introduced Mother Teresa to the Western world. Something Beautiful for God interprets her life through her conversations with Malcolm Muggeridge, the quintessential worldly skeptic who experienced a remarkable conversion to Christianity because of her exemplary influence. He hails her as a light which could never be extinguished.

One of my favourite books of all time
A candid, honest, and illuminating dialogue between two people who are looking for an understanding of GOD. Though both are on very different paths, their shared humanity, the desire to connect with a complex GOD and to know intimately with and experience a complex GOD, resulted in a very moving and inspiring work. Questioning and doubt are okay, GOD is not too small to fill us at our point of need, and to meet us with a love and compassion for others.

Muggeride shares his insights on the happy woman of Calcutta
Tired of chasing Mammom and the treats of this world that won 't survive your death? Malcolm Muggeridge gives an outstanding review of the daily life of Mother Teresa and the sisters serving in the Missionaries of Charity and why they are such peaceful and joyful women. Mother Teresa and her work are a fresh breeze in a world that is increasingly populated with marine gazers at all levels. She makes it clear that you do not turn back and find ways to indulge yourself in ever-increasing amounts, but to truly be happy, you must serve others. Find the book and read it out...

A Moving View of a Saint For Our Times
This view of St. Teresa, presented by Muggeridge, was very moving. It gave an insight into her personality and faith, leaving no doubt as to why the Catholic Church declared her a saint. Very few people could achieve the total giving of self in service to God, but it gives those who want to serve a goal to strive for.

Everyone with a heart for the poor and those who have no voice should read his book slowly and contemplatively. It has the power to change one's perspective on many things, especially in this age of fast everything ''. The copy I received was well used, I think, somewhat yellowed! But we passed it on to our son and he loves it, yellow or not.

Beautiful book that made me love Mother Teresa even more
Beautiful book that made me even more love Mother Teresa. I wish there was only more about this beautiful saint. But Malcolm Muggeridge's writings, which framing the information about Mother Teresa, were quite well written.

I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it
I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. '' I am not a Catholic, but this book was recommended to me. I was challenged by her passion and the personal sacrifice she made to help the poor, and her faith that the Lord would provide for their needs. The writing is not that great and sometimes difficult to read, but is definitely worth the read.

   Awesome book !
This is the first book I am reading from Malcom, but is so inspiring and interesting, especially the interview that Malcom had with Mother Theresa outstanding. The language is a little difficult, though the interview part is so simple. Overall, I recommend this book to everyone who aspires to an outer look change.
