My Dear Friends

What can be said about CandH that hasn't already been said? I have memories of reading these comics at a very dark age and in very young times in my life. I loved each and every one of them and devoured them. His struggles were mine and his preternatural wisdom helped me through challenges of my own. And Hobbes, dear Hobbes, the eternally divided confidant, both secretly present and at the same time publicly motionless. He was every best friend you had or wish you had. Watterson, thank you for your gift to the world. As for the binding, I found it very sturdy and should live for many years of use, at least far beyond those of its paperbacks. In fact, I decided to purchase all these works in the Turtleback version after reading rather poor reviews about the quality of the Complete Calvin and Hobbes collection.

Great way to complement morning and evening
Derived From Web , May 27, 2022
Calvin and Hobbes has become a daily reading therapy part of my life. After a few hours of meditation, there is nothing like reading a few adventures by Calvin and Hobbes to put a bit of levity in your heart, a smile on your face and a realistic perspective that a child's perspective on life is something that we should not lose sight of. Calvin is a precocious kid, even in the most extreme cases. How he can marvel at the intricacies of the universe and stay from simple class assignments while plotting his next attack on Susie. I hope and trust that spaceman Spiff, Ingenious Man and even his mysterious tracer bullet will live long and prosper! Do someone a favor and share a Calvin and Hobbes adventure with them... you might even find yourself wanting to play a game of Calvin Ball!

My kids are excited to read these at bed time
Derived From Web , Dec 30, 2021
I grew up reading these books as a kid ; I love Calvin and Hobbes. So while going through some of my old stuff, I found my old compilation books. I began reading it at bedtime with my children. It keeps them interested in reading and has some bigger words that help them understand their meanings and help them understand why a certain strip is funny even if they don 't get it right away. It is a good way to help children learn bigger words, because Calvin sometimes uses a more sophisticated adult vocabulary than a typical 6 - year old.

Adults & Kids Will Enjoy
Derived From Web , Oct 10, 2020
When I was a kid, I used to read the books of Calvin and Hobbes and remember them fondly. I have now bought all the books for my own children. My older son is an avid reader and has already finished the books we reread several times. He doesn 't seem to get tired of them, the biggest difference I have seen is in my younger son. When I tried reading other books at bedtime with them, he would always wander off or start playing with something else. Not only does he stays put with Calvin and Hobbes, but he asks questions about what all the big words mean, and he shocked me the other day when I came across one of these books reading one of them. Voluntarily : On purpose, it is located in the city of Versailles. With access to a lot of other things to play with, so yeah, definitely worth buying!

I didn't care for the Ouija board strip.
Derived From Web , Jul 30, 2020
The only thing I did not care about was that the book had a story on the Ouija board. i wanted to mention this in the review, because i know that there are many families that are very sensitive to any spiritistic references. I hope that this information helps. The story I speak of is only one page.

This was a birthday present for my nephew, who had found one of their books, so I found this one, but I also found the complete collection for myself, and that was a surprise, but anyone who wants to get just a little bit of their stuff instead of the treasure I ordered, should get this.
