The signature Classic style wall map of Spain and Portugal features a bright color palette with blue oceans and the country's terrain detailed in stunning shaded relief that has been a hallmark of National Geographic wall maps for over 75 years. The map includes thousands of place names, accurate boundaries, national parks, and major infrastructure networks such as roads, highways, airports, ferry routes, and railroads. Coastal bathymetry is shown with depth curves and soundings. Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean are included. Inset maps provide detail of the Madeira Islands, Azores, and Canary Islands, as well as their location in relation to Spain and Portugal.
The map is encapsulated in heavy-duty 1.6 mil laminate which makes the paper much more durable and resistant to the swelling and shrinking caused by changes in humidity. Laminated maps can be framed without the need for glass, so the fames can be much lighter and less expensive.
Spain And Portugal is 2 pages long.
Very well made but not completely up-to-date
Derived From Web , May 18, 2022
The map is clear and easy to read as far as the major routes, but it is hard to believe that it was revised in 2012 because it missed a major road in Algarve - luckily we heard that the road existed from the locals, saving us time and fuel. The monuments are marked, but not identified - virtually every city has an old castle, a church or a monastery, and a usable index would be helpful. NG emailed me about the missing road. NG replied that their cartographers would correct the road omisssion before the next update.

It is a much sturdier version of the AAA map. Google Maps is much better for FYI. Many of the smaller roads were not included or lacked a road number.

Derived From Web , May 18, 2022
This map is lightweight for packing, has all the information at your fingertips, fits easily into a briefcase or briefcase and best of all, is made of a material that does not seem to tear easily. Because of the points of interest on this map, we now know that we want to spend more time on our trip and can plan our trip accordingly. It is a great tool.

Only good for major highways
Derived From Web , Feb 6, 2022
Smaller routes do not even show on this map. Unless you want to travel the highways of Portugal, waste of money. They should have one map of Portugal and Spain each, not just an overview of each.

I have quite a few of these maps. The hard, quality paper helps these maps survive a lot of use.

Two side printing impractical
Derived From Web , Dec 10, 2020
This map was divided into two sides of the page, making it difficult to figure out where you are going or what the whole picture is without turning it over all the time.

Waste of money
Derived From Web , Mar 19, 2018
After a day of driving around Spain lost, we stopped at a gas station and bought a Michelin map! This NG map includes very little in the way of road numbers, exit numbers, side roads, cities, etc. on the Michelin map.
