The beguiling second entry in the innovative shape trilogy by multi-award-winning, New York Times best-selling duo Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen.
This book is about Square. Square spends every day taking blocks from a pile below the ground to a pile above the ground. This book is also about Square's friend Circle. Circle thinks Square is an artistic genius. But is he really? Understated and striking in its simplicity, this funny, thoughtful offering from two of today's most talented picture-book creators emphasizes the importance of keeping your eyes -- and your mind -- open to wonder where others see only rubble and rocks. It takes about 6 Hours and 2 minutes on average for a reader to read Square. This is based on the average reading speed of 250 Words per minute.

Very nice book series

A very sweet shape book series. Among the three shapes, this is a bit less silly and engaging than the Circle book, which is more fun and giggles.

I have returned it because it was too bad to give as a gift as planned. I listened to the authors on NPR and was very excited to order the set. So very disappointing '', Judd so.

Silly & Strange
Derived From Web , Feb 2, 2019
This book series has a major personality. We love Triangle and square and are eagerly waiting for Circle. This book is seeing Square wrestle with a reputation he got from accident and desperately wants to stay. It is very sweet, and my son loves it.

Toddler Love
Derived From Web , Dec 17, 2018
We were gifted Triangle and that quickly became my 2 year old favorite book and Square does not disappoint. My 1yo is particularly drawn to these books because of the stark contrasts and he is really into the expressive eyes of characters. We have already preordered Circle! I also like the strong construction of these books. No need for a dust jacket and it has held very well to the loveabuse of a toddler.

Shapes are fun!
Derived From Web , Oct 23, 2018
The drawings are so funny, bizar and interesting. We have had the book Triangle for some time and my daughter loves it. I was excited to see that there were more in this series, so I surprised her with Square. My daughter loves the book, but I also like the story of Triangles much better. Why is square moving through all the squares? Isn 't his cave big enough? What is the point? I also feel that the story of Squares ends abruptly and unfinished. But the drawings are so bizarre and fun to read, I don 't mind looking over and over. We are looking forward to the third in the Sereies Circle! PS : I make her a triangle and square costume for Halloween.

Great story, flimsy pages
Derived From Web , Aug 23, 2018
My only complaint is that, while the cover is like a board book, the pages are thin paper that gets stuck together. I see these pages ripping very easily once his little hands grasp things. I wish the whole book had thick cardboard pages, so it would be more durable.

even better than the first!
Derived From Web , Jun 8, 2018
After my first son fully memorized the first book in the series, we had to buy Square. I even like this one better than the first. It has such a cute and fun story that resonated really well with me. Someone has created art without really trying to create art, and is they just a genius? The show is fantastic. My son learns also some great vocabulary words. He wrote it after two weeks! The Duo Jon Klassen and Mac Barnett can not be wrong in my book.

He is definitely trying to love it. The artwork is excellent

I have one of the most die-hard little Jon Klassen Mac Barnett fans there. We have ordered this and the release date has been marked on the calendar for four months. Square isn 't as funny to my four-year-old as Triangle was. The story is a little more complex, as is the vocabulary. That is not a problem of course, just that it seems to be a different vibe than Triangle, which was just a fun book that needed little explanation. There are no sneaky tricks in Square that will come as a relief to some of the pearl clutchers who have quoted Triangle in their Amazon reviews for not being kind '', but also the laugh-out-loud moments are gone.
