Book Overview

Do you need a breakthrough?

Are you stuck fighting the same battles with kids who seem totally unmotivated to change?

The truth is, every child is motivated, you just need to learn how to unlock your child's unique heart.

In Start with the Heart, you'll learn practical, manageable strategies for motivating your kids toward healthy life habits, including how to:

  • Address beliefs that affect behavior
  • Respond to consistent complaining
  • Increase resiliency and decrease fear of hard work
  • Listen longer and teach your kids to know themselves
  • Create change that lasts long-term

Plus, Dr. Koch will teach you what really irritates kids (they've told her), and how to identify and avoid actions that break down trust. Move your kids from I Can't to I Can, I Will, I Did.

In this wise and insightful volume, Dr. Kathy Koch has reminded parents how important it is to build our parenting on a foundation of solid, loving bonds with our kids.

   Well referenced parenting guide
The author encourages us to be sensitive to meeting spiritual needs en route to meeting physical ones in educating our children. Her emphasis is on the tuning of our child through relationship into our heavenly Father, just as our heavenly Father does with us. She leads us in compassionate parenting that looks to shape our children's hearts, rather than seeking compliance in their behavior, just like Jesus. The section on recognizing different capacities in our children is also helpful! P.S. : It is based on research!

"Parent so the Lord's love captures their hearts."
With this book, Kathy Koch really hit the nail on the head and stepped quite a bit on my toes. I am so glad I was part of the launch team for this book, as it will be life changing for me and my 3 children. I have never considered the heart of my children and parenting them accordingly. She addresses heart issues along with how to meet them where they are, being positive, knowing that every child responds differently to every situation, that even the smallest child wants to be unserstood and so much more. If you want a solid Christ-based parenting book, this is definitely for you!

Invest in the Hearts of Your Children Now and for Future Generations
If I could recommend only one book that everyone should read, it would be start with the heart by Dr Kathy Koch. The wisdom she shares in this book has transformed the way I raise my children. The best part of the book is that she not only shares her wisdom, but also educates parents about how to put that wisdom into action. Reading and implementing the ideas in Start With The Heart will not only make your family healthier, but it has the power to influence generations to come. That is an investment I encourage you to make.
