   Fun books!
This set was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 7 year old grandson. He loved her and started reading the first book the day he opened it. They are great for this age and an average reader. I am very happy with my purchase. What funny stories and characters!

   Fun, harmless stories
Maybe a little young for an 8-year old. Still interesting stories and no qualms or hesitation in sharing with my boy.

Great books for kids just learning to read chapter books
First of all, I think they push kids a little too fast these days. With this disclaimer in mind, my son is in the 1st grade. One day we were in Target and he wanted to buy a chapter book from Ninja Turtle, Teenage Mutant. He told me that other children in his class were reading chapter books and it was the class goal to be able to read chapter books by the end of the school year. I didn 't want to discourage him, so we got the TMNT book. However, as I learned, finding chapter books of the beginning level is not easy. For example, the Magic Treehouse books are wonderful, but my 1st grader is not ready for them. I came across a Stink book at BJ's Wholesale, read through it and thought, wow!! Then I went to Amazon to order the rest of the series... and the prices here can not be beat.

Great for our 3rd grader boy struggling with reading
These books have just the right amount of fun and silly, topped with pictures too. Our ADHD 3rd grader who struggles with reading, plowed through all of them over Christmas break and loved them! He was really upset when he had to write a book review for a chapter book he read recently, and kept saying that he can never read one... When I reminded him that he had these books that he had recently, he was elated! He was so terrified of chapter books, but the shorter chapters and engaging material for a little boy are perfect for a panic attack and a budding reader. I think we 'll spoil him again and grab the nest set for his birthday!

   Not for our family.
I purchased these books to have my second year reading to me in hopes to get him more interested in reading. I don 't know, maybe it is me, but I was not happy with the name dividing between the siblings and I found some of the content to be not good. Not far into the first book, the school newt falls into the kitchen drain and the garbage disposal is mistakenly turned on, killing the newt. My children did not like it, nor did I. After that, we stopped reading the book and decided not even to finish it. The other two are the same. I will throw them away.

Entertaining and Good Stories for Kids
He's on the shorter side and can relate to stinky issues. Family relationships are good and stories keep him interested. Every night he reads a chapter to me and we talk about Stink's choices and how he handles different situations. Overall, I was quite happy with Megan McDonalds's creativity and writing style.

   My grandson loves them
For Christmas, I sent these books to my grandson. He writes the stories and loves to write letters about them. Thank you for your kind words.

   Love the stink books.
They don 't understand everything, so I have to take time to explain to them certain parts of the story. THey'll probably enjoy reading the books again on their own when they can go through them in a few years. I also enjoy the stories! Storytime isn 't anymore boring.

   Not happy with the language
I read comments and thought these would be great books for my grandson's 6th birthday. I have received books 1-6. I have to say that I am very disappointed in some of the language used. I guess the author is trying to get into a little boy's mind and thinks it is humorous to always use the words butt, fart, etc. These are the words we are encouraging him to use, and these books only reinforce this language that he 'll be reprimanded by adults.

   Highly recommend for reluctant readers.
Stink is particularly appealing to boys because he tends to get into a bit of trouble. There is plenty of kid humor and relatable dilemma to keep a reluctant reader interested.
