Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

This program is read by the authors and includes an audio exclusive bonus conversation.

From the duo behind the massively successful and award-winning podcast Stuff You Should Know comes an unexpected look at things you thought you knew.

Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant started the podcast Stuff You Should Know back in 2008 because they were curious--curious about the world around them, curious about what they might have missed in their formal educations, and curious to dig deeper on stuff they thought they understood.

As it turns out, they aren't the only curious ones. They've since amassed a rabid fan base, making Stuff You Should Know one of the most popular podcasts in the world. Armed with their inquisitive natures and a passion for sharing, they uncover the weird, fascinating, delightful, or unexpected elements of a wide variety of topics.

The pair have now taken their near-boundless whys and hows to the chapters of an audiobook for the first time--featuring a completely new array of subjects that they've long wondered about and wanted to explore. Follow along as the two dig into the underlying stories of everything from the origin of Murphy beds, to the history of facial hair, to the psychology of being lost.

   A must for SYSK fans.
Full of interesting stories and facts, full of fun and interesting facts. SYSK is a great complement to the Podcast SYSK.

   Damaged book
The book's back section is torn, as is the cover. This was supposedly a gift so that I don 't have the time to return it or wait for another copy.

This book was picked up in a few days by Ate. Great stuff!

Book Printed on very poor quality Paper
This book is printed on paper a few grades below the newspaper. Better paper should have been used for the price.

   Perfect, buy now
I bought the hardcover version and the book is of great quality, the paper stock, the binding, everything. My significant other and I enjoy some quiet reading time and with this book I stopped every few minutes to discuss what I had just read. I tell you, absolutely phenomenal, great job Josh and Chuck.

Best thing to happen in 2020!
The wait is well worth it! I am so excited to finally have this in my hands! It is better than I expected, inside and out of very high quality. Beautiful hand drawn illustrations, heavy paper and I love the extras on the back. I'm nearly halfway through ''. Now 8 really want to get the audio version read by Josh and Chuck, so that I can follow along with them just. Now we need another visit to Las Vegas or somewhere close so that we can see you again in person and now get a book signed!

SYSK fix for those quiet evenings...
This book is my favorite book of the year! Maybe even this decade! '' I find myself turning SYSK on when I work around the house and find that as many times as I have listened to each episode, I find myself not being distracted or pulled away as much. With this amazing compendium, I have been able to learn, read and retain, and sit. It is great to read a book where you already know what the authors sound like and to act. For this long-awaited book, thanks.

   So far so good!
I have ordered this book and forgot about it. I was very happy when the delivery lady turned my ring doorbell off... I haven t yet figured out what it is. It is as easy to read as Josh and Chuck are listening. I love subtle humor, especially some of the subtexts. While each chapter covers a topic, they keep it interesting with funny stories and rabbit holes, which are just as interesting as the topic of the chapter. At the end, I'll update my review.

Fell for this book the second I saw the word Doughnut
I have always wondered how people who are good at pub trivia get this way. I am continually amazed at how curious people always seem to find new sources of knowledge. I feel like this book is the kind of place that those people turn to get their Jeopardy! Training is conducted by : My friend put me on to this podcast and told me that they had a book, I am so glad she did, because this thing is funny and super interesting in an oddly mesmerizing way that I would be able to believe. You have to understand it to experience it.

   More Than Mostly Amazing!!
I have had this book in my hands for nearly two hours, and to say that the facts are mostly interesting, it is almost an understatement! I have already learned more in this time than I have in the last two semesters of remote learning at my university. If this isn 't the best book of general trivia ever written by two beloved Atlanta-based podcasters, I eat my shoe. These guys got my mom into podcasts years ago and I will buy a copy for her as well.
