   So beautiful
Wow, what a beautiful book. I am a father of 3 little girls and it made me teary eyed. Beautifully written and illustrated.

   Good but included inappropriate words
When it arrived, I was so excited. The illustrations are beautiful and the story and message is honest. I don't feel comfortable reading the words " dar*y" and " bl**e" to a class of diverse students as a white teacher. They are used in the real world, but I wish they hadn't been used in the story. Amazon wouldn't post my review with them the first time, so I added the profanity to my comment.

   Beautifully written
The book is very well written and illustrated. She tackles her self love and worth. Why is she the color of midnight? The book is about colorism in the black community. In the Black home, this is a conversation starter.

   A Joyful Read
I experienced this in my community and it was something I identified with. I am 72 years old, yet I still feel different because of my weight, height and complexion. My sister was a year older than me and had a lighter complexion. She criticized me so much that I learned not to be upset with others. The book is a good read for kids. The knowledge of this book will allow them to do more.

   What a beautiful read
What a great read! We love her so much. There isn't a sweet sweet Sulwe doll to hug. I just want to hug her mom. She is beautiful and sad, but my daughter still has the urge to hug her. It's beautiful!

It’s a must have book, but the cover is very delicate
The book has a message and I like it. I wish I had a book like this when I was younger because I got teased for being darker. I am looking forward to reading this to my two black girls. The cover is pretty, but it tore quickly. The cover was rubbed against something and it tore. I was not tough or anything. The cover doesn't have anything glue on it. It is possible to remove it from the book I don't like. That is the only thing that makes it a great book.

   Moonlight and Shadows
This is the first book from the author, and it is lovely. This is a must read for any child that has doubted themselves or their worth because of how they looked. Sisters Day and Night are separated after dark hears bad words. Dark is needed to create balance when the days become too long. During their respective hours, Night and Day can share a unique way. This is a book about self discovery.

An Amazing Book about Self-Acceptance, Developing Positive Self-Esteem, and Respecting Diversity!
Thank you so much for reading this book. I love it. This book can be used to teach children self- acceptance, develop positive self- esteem and respect diversity. I can't wait to show this book to my students. The back cover has a picture of Nyong'o. It allows children of color with darker skin tones to see that there are great authors just like them. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of children.
