Don't buy it for the jokes
Although you might have to ask your parents or grandparents to help you get some of the jokes, some of them are positively old ; the exercises and activities are helpful. The program is engaging and is a good way to help a child forget what he learned in third grade and be prepared for fourth grade. It is a good supplement to the summer school or educational activities you come up with on your own.

Simple and succinct way to review the essential topics that a third grader needs to master before entering the fourth grade. This book is a painless way to keep a small bit of academic work each day to keep fresh skills.

   Good book
My son uses this book to practice before this 3rd grade. This book is very useful and I hope it would be helpful in his 3rd grade for his strength further.

Set your student up for success….
The passages are not only engaging, but they are also educational. All 3rd grade common core standards are covered in this easy to use summer bridging program. The daily format is easy to follow and just enough to keep motivated any student. This resource will ensure that your student does not lose any of the valuable skills they worked so hard to acquire. Why not give your student a leg up in the 4th grade?

   Just Right!
I liked the book ''. Not too overwhelming, just enough practice to help students not regress in the summer months. I would have liked if the questions and passages were on the same page. This is a great product in general.

As an educator I would recommend this book for my students
As an educator, I would recommend this book to my students. As a parent, I would also recommend other parents to consider this for their children. We all know that summer is what our students look forward to, but can sometimes be detrimental, as they lose a percentage of what they learned over the course of a year. This workbook is a great resource to use over the summer and throughout the year as well.

Educational but too easy with slightly boring content
This book is far too easy ; daily homework can be completed in a matter of minutes. It is black and white in black and white with no color and almost the same everyday, so my daughter is bored. Once the book is completed, they expect the student to go online and complete a few more homework assignments on their website. Which may work for some people, but I would prefer to use everything in the book for ease of use, travel etc. I have purchased several summer workbooks for my children over the years and this is by far the easiest. The Summer Bridge and the Scholastic Summer Express books seem to cover a wider variety of academic components and everything is all in one book.

   Perfect
Every year I start my children with class work the last full month of the summer break to help them get back on track and start back to school. When I ordered this book, I did not know that it goes along with an online program. It does take a moment to figure out the site and steps, but it has a helpful pop - chat navigator. The book gives great refresher lessons. I love that the online part grades the work for you and then shows the child what they missed and the correct answer.

   Great value and activities
This is for our third grader that is working above the grade level. One week in it seems very appropriate and engaging. I like the Math & Reading Combo and the various enrichment activities at the end of each week. My child is interested in the summer activities, including the online diary each week and is happy about the essay contest. It is of great value compared to other resources.

Great Tool to Help Minimize the Summer Slide!
As an elementary teacher, I find this book to be a wonderful tool that has the potential to minimize the summer slide that all teachers dread. This book is great for parents who want to help their kiddos learn during the summer break. I like the fact that it includes reading, writing, math, and has fun activities. I like the short passages of reading. I also like how math - skills progress in difficulty, as it would during a school year. I think it is SUPER helpful to have the answers and explanations in the back, so parents who are not sure how to explain it to their students can use it as a reference. Overall, I think this is a really good summer workbook for 4th graders going into the 3rd grade.
