   Great for keeping skills sharp
By continuing to do things over the summer, my children help when they start back in the fall. The lessons don't take much time to focus and if the children do, they can be done for the material of the day in 5-30 min. The online part is also helpful for getting the kids used to navigating websites and answering questions online. There are a few typographical and content errors I have seen, but to be fair, that should be engaged anyway to go over material with their children. I also would like to see the answer sheets removed the tear out kind so that we can see them easier.

Challenges kids, but easy on parents.
I like that the lessons are short, but challenging enough to keep my boys going without them feeling overwhelmed. On problems that I can not noodle out, there are answers and explanations in the back of the book. It's kind of lengthy and took some time to do.

Great mix of academics - but answer key at back is problematic
My son ripped through this only a few weeks ago. I liked the content and the broad range of coverage. Would prefer if the answer key was removable in the back of the book, so parents could keep their children honest.

   Adequate but not impressive.
I appreciate that the book is laid by days, but it is disappointing that it covers only 37 days. Our summer break is 10 weeks or about 50 week days. We are actually using this book to supplement the online learning of our school districts through the COVID-19 quarantine, and will work fine for this purpose. It came with a code for digital access, but it looks like you can access it, but you have to pay to download additional worksheets to print at home. Overall, it is fine for what I bought it, but I prefer the larger bills from a different publisher. Unfortunately, those go through 6th grade only.

   Worth it!
For years, I have been purchasing summer workbooks for my children. My daughter preferred this book over her one from last year. It was engaging and formatted in a way that it was not overwhelming for her to complete work each day. I will definitely buy these again next summer!

Not what I expected, but most importantly, not what my daughter expected either.
We bought this book in hopes that it would challenge my daughter, who starts 8th grade in a week. The book is printed by days and designed by them. My daughter can withstand 5 days at a time, if not more. Daily assignments are ridiculously short, too easy, and there are errors to finish them off. This editor needs to check everything thoroughly. As a parent, you have to log into your own account and assign lessons, tests, etc. The site is so primitive that assigning anything becomes annoyingly tedious. From now on, I will absolutely stay away from the HeadStart books.

   Great Summer Workbook
My 12-year-old daughter enjoyed this workbook. We tried a variety of workbooks, but this particular workbook is the only one to offer a short story drawing that she can enter for a chance to win $100. In all other respects, she said that reading seems easy and math is a little more challenging. It also has small daily exercise segments that got my daughter into the habit of exercising in the morning to help her start her day. In all, it was a great workbook that kept her brain turning during the summer break! I would recommend this book to others.

Easy to do and manageable sections
I bought this for my 13 year old son a few weeks ago. Honestly, when I first told him, I bought him a workbook, he groaned. He kept lamenting that it is summer and how could I do this to him, etc. When I showed him the length of the days, he stopped groaning, but it doesn 't mind that the sections are so short. He has to pass a couple of reasons, I guess he was not familiar with some of the work, but we went back and looked it through the answers in the back. I love it as a parent and well, my son tolerates it, but he does it without me threatening to take away all the electronics.

   Love it!
The book is set that there are a few pages marked clearly for each day, so that Donny feels overwhelmed or like they are losing their summer. It's a little quirky and takes some exploring to figure out, but opens the book up once you do.
