Reflections on Keeping Your Faith in College
Preparing for college is exciting for young adults--but are they truly prepared for the intellectual challenges they will face in and out of the classroom? College is not just a time filled with new and formative experiences; it can also be an intense season of testing for a young Christian's faith.
Writing in the form of a letter to his college-age daughter, biblical scholar Michael Kruger reflects on some of the biggest stumbling blocks Christian students often encounter at secular universities. Answering questions such as How can Christianity be the only right religion?; How can we know the Bible is really from God?; and Wouldn't a loving God save everyone?, Kruger offers biblical, theological, and logical support for the Christian faith and provides students with the tools to navigate these challenging topics. College students wrestling with these issues will be encouraged to find security in God's unfailing word even in the face of difficult questions.
Surviving Religion 101: Letters To A Christian Student On Keeping The Faith In College is 256 pages long.
Excellent book for Students headed for college
Derived From Web , Feb 25, 2022
When the author Michael Kruger was a freshman at UNC Chapel Hell, he took a class on religion 101 unknowingly from one of the most notorious atheists in the country, Bart Ehrman, who put him and other Christian classmates through Hell. The title is thus Surviving Religion 101. The book is written to his daughter, who is now attending the same school. Every week or month, he sends her a letter giving her advice about living with people with different views of the world and giving her tips on how to defend and maintain her Christian faith.

Great gift for a high school student
Derived From Web , Feb 8, 2022
This is a well written book by a father to his daughter. But it speaks to any high school or college student. If you are a parent, mentor, teacher, minister, etc and want to know how to guide your student as they enter the college phase, this is a good resource. It would also make a good gift for students. Whether a student attends a private school or a state university, there are huge challenges to their faith, whether from the faculty or the student body.

For Christian kids going to college...
Derived From Web , Dec 13, 2021
The book's audience are the Sheep '', which is led to the slaughterhouse of postmodern intellectual nihilism of university life. As I was reading this, I kept getting the impression that it is wrong-headed to throw your child into the godless academic waters to see if she can swim. I am disappointed with the book overall, as I don 't think it will achieve it's goal. Better to teach your children about logic, language, science, philosophy and epistemology.

Great resource for teenage small groups
Derived From Web , Jul 7, 2021
I used this book to lead a high book study for seniors who have just graduated from high school. Time and time again, they have told me how grateful they are for this book, which presents Christianity and its soundness in a way that makes sense for 18-year-olds. It has been such a gift to their faith and mine. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to grow up in their faith, no matter the age.

Why You Need to Read "Surviving Religion 101"
Derived From Web , Jun 24, 2021
These are my upfront thoughts after finishing Surviving Religion 101. As a recent graduate, I wish I had read this book before I started college, but man, it is never too late! Surviving Religion 101 is hard to put down for the Christian, skeptic and seeker. Kruger does a great job of identifying and addressing real and difficult questions about conflicting worldviews, the legitimacy of the Bible and whether or not Jesus is worth it. After reading Kruger's Surviving Religion 101, I feel better prepared to answer questions such as : How can we trust the Bible, why do we follow Jesus, and what does it look like to honor our Lord in [insert relatable circumstance here ]. I would definitely recommend it for any Christian who is looking to learn and grow up or for anyone interested in Christian faith for any reason. For me, 5 out of 5 stars! It is worth it!

Great for unsaved family members
Derived From Web , May 28, 2021
I purchased this to be able to talk with my unsaved family members, but also to have these conversations with my kids before they go to college. Although I'm only chapter 3, the author explains things in terms that are easy to explain then to others.
