Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

When the luxury cruiser, hastily renamed Great Britain, berths in Kinloch harbour, the pressure is on DCI Jim Daley. The UK government are taking a high-powered group of businessmen and women on a tour of the British isles, golfing and seeing the sights, as part of a push for global trade. But when one of the crew goes missing, and an elderly local ornithologist disappears, will the pressure become too great?

The arrival of a face from the past sends Daley's world into a tailspin. And the lives of the passengers and crew of S Great Britain as well as the country's economic future are in jeopardy. DS Brian Scott comes to the fore and, replete with a temporary promotion, is once more - most reluctantly, in his case - back at sea.

Daley faces a life and death struggle, but is this his last throw of the dice?

   Entertaining
I loved the fact that every short story ties into the Cantina and Han, Luke and Obi-Wan. At the time, interesting takes on all the beings in the Cantina.

Scum and Villians From A Thousand worlds
This is an excellent collection of short stories. It meets my expectations and a lot more. I am done with it, I have a story left and part of another to complete. Once you start reading this book, you will not want to put it down. It goes more in depth of the characters from the Cantina and each has a great story. Especially to those die hard Star Wars fans who want to be transported to a galaxy far away. Kris L. CocKayne, THX, is a THX.

Lots of fun reading about each of the characters from the barroom ...
I also enjoyed the discussion at the end of the book that gave wonderful information about the various time periods in the Star Wars Saga, as well as reading lists and excerpts from different books.

   First star wars book
This was the first Star Wars book I read and I really enjoyed most of the short stories and characters throughout this book. If you are like me and haven't read any of the other books, this is a nice start to the vast collection of Star Wars novels.
