I think it will stick better if there are pictures
Young son reading to young son. I wish it had more pictures, but the story for children is understandable. I will order the graphic novel as well. I think it will be better if there are pictures.

   Well done
I received this book for my 10 year old because she heard the Odyssey at school and wanted to read it. That's a little surprising because although she likes reading at school, it has been really hard to convince her to read on her own. Since then, she has rejected myriad suggestions and I can only think of three books that interest her enough to actually finish, and she said that she enjoyed these books, but she didn 't finish any of them. But a few days ago she read this straight through, sighed and said, that's a great story. Then she went to read an entire anthology of mythology and now asks for more. Good book, so!

   Perfect for me
I am a teacher whose class reading level ranges from 10th grade to 3rd grade. It focuses on many of the complicated Greek names and omits the core of the novel. It is friendly and enjoyable for the user. It was interesting enough to challenge everyone's imagination and still capture my higher-order thinkers. Lower reading level readers had success with limited teacher support. It was nice to be able to read and access a novel that all my students could use. Mary Pope Osborne is a consistently wonderful writer.

Perfect for children -- exciting and not too much gore.
The adventure of the tales without inappropriate details that don 't need to be mentioned at this tender age. Each of them loved and cherished these books and I am delighted that their education in these classic stories began in the 3rd grade thanks to Mary Pope Osborne.

   Enjoyment for all ages!
We LOVE this book! We found the first in a neighborhood library box. My elementary children and I both enjoyed it so much that we came to Amazon to purchase the next issue. It is easy to read with a great description for your child's imagination. We love all the books by Mary Pope Osborne!

   Classic for Kids
My daughter, whose name is Penelope, loved these books just. Right now I read them with her, but I know that in a year or two she will read them again, when she reaches that reading level. Mary Pope Osborne does not write anything down, but she does write in a way to keep kids captivated by this long story.

   Highly recommended for enjoyable reading
Mrs. Osborne has done a wonderful job of making this great story available to the casual reader. I tell stories to school children. After sharing the stories from Part 1 with the kids, I was so impressed that I had to buy Part 2 to continue the saga. It is written as part 1 as well as part 2. For most of my 84 years, I have been an avid reader. While I had been tempted by the available adventures I knew it contained, I had always found the good translations of the Odyssey more aggravation than pleasure to read. I recommend it highly to anyone who wants to read the classic for pleasure.
