   Terrific Value for the Money!
One of the best books I have ever written on is one of the best books I ever wrote. I feel like I have my money's worth on page 27 and I still have 73 more pages to go! I understand the basic structure of the federal income tax by page 27. I also learned some of the common misunderstandings that everyone has about things like tax brackets, deductions and pre-tax money. What a wonderful education is this book! This book should be read as a life manual for adults as well as a book of its own.
   Great introduction to taxes.
This book provides a basic overview of great tax information. It does, however, assume that you have a very basic understanding of some terms.
Having little interest in taxes, I found this book very useful and enlightening. After reading this book, you will obviously not become a CPA, but you will have a much better understanding of taxes.
   I finally get taxes.
I have always been terrified of having to pay my own taxes, but I wanted to save money this year, because the accountant of last year was super expensive. I read this and Alex's taxes for my self-employed book and now I get it. I am confident in my own books this year and I'm sure I'll look at more of Mike's books.
   Quick read, great foundation
For a person like me, who works in the medical field, I never thought that I would understand how personal income taxes are calculated. This was a quick read and well written book. From here it will be my reference.
   Excellent, well written and clear
The book really enjoyed me. Love all the mike pipers stuff. I think it is great when someone can take something that is usually presented as complex and elitist and show it to be accessible and approachable. This seems to be Mikes's approach in all his writing and I am definitely grateful for it. Covers the basics thoroughly so that you can take the knowledge and build a strong foundation.
More sample calcilations would have earned another star
Instead of telling just through words, Mr Piper should show actual calculations, especially for the Passive Income section. I'm probably a little slow. Other than that, Taxes Made Simple is simple to its title. It is a great book for anyone like me who does not know much about dividend and passive income taxes. Just getting to capital gains and losses.
   Do Your Own Taxes!
The book was a lovely short read, very concise in regard to all the tax knowledge that the average American individual should know. Will give you insight into what one should be doing when considering taxes and how to spend money throughout the year to optimize taxes. You can show a lot more by doing your own taxes and this book will show you how. There is a quote in this book I have read, which I wish I knew before. The taxes you pay are a negotiation about how much you should pay the government. Once you know that it is a more friendly process and not so appalling as the public makes it, it becomes less of a burden to carry.
   Entry level taxes
This is a basic book for those who want a good primer on taxes. The fundamentals of the deductions, credits and retirement contributions are well explained. If you are already comfortable preparing your own return and are looking for something to go just a little deeper, this is not the book for you.
   Helped me with Tax I.
I took this book for a few days while I read it, it helped me understand concepts I wasn 't understanding from my textbook.
