I taught elementary school for 30 years... elementary school. MartinLois Ehlert was always a winner against Bill MartinLois Ehlert. In the book clubs, I would give several to give as gifts. Also my parents told them to get them for their child. Beautiful story and illustrations by . Bill Martin is also fabulous! What a gifted writerillustrator is. When you see him... buy him!
   Another winner!!
Bill Martin Jr. and Lois Ehlert are among my favorite authors as a mother and kindergarten teacher. This collaboration is a delight with engaging pictures and snippets of information, which encourages further research of a scientific nature.
   Great science book!
I had a chance to see a group of children really enjoyed hearing this story out of the book I purchased, and they enjoyed it immensely. This is a scholarly science book for a one on one or a large group of children.
   a family favorite
A great book for preschoolers, but it also attracts the attention of slightly older children. Simple and bright illustrations are shown. As a parent, I don 't mind reading over and over this one.
   A must have
He was able to recognize the one we have in our garden and to look for some others that are native from Florida. He enjoys reading it to everyone who comes to visit.
   Love Lois!
I am an environmental educationist and often use books by Lois Elhert ; this book was no different. The illustrations and great world science information was real! This book was also good for younger ones who are working on Counting as well.
