Adorable and Punny, but With a Weird Classification System
Love the recipes and the variety of simple, complex, sweet, tart, bitter etc. The literary puns were spot-on, and I liked the idea that the drink could match both the themes at work in the story and sometimes even the literary criticism surrounding the novel. The suggested games at the end were very funny and the illustrations added to the whole presentation. My only complaint was the way the cocktails were arranged into male-female categories. Really? Couldn 't they be grouped by flavor, literary ingredient, main alcoholic genre, publication date? Not only was having two categories unhelpful in terms of finding drinks, it is a little insulting to divide drinks by sex. In all, it was a beautiful book, and I can overlook the classification for most of the time.
Perfect gift for an English teacher
Bought as a gift for my coworker, who is an English teacher. If you know anything about English teachers, you know that they love literature and they love to drink.
Great to give as a gift!
I love this book! '' I now gave it twice as a gift. The recipe pages are super cute with great drawings! .
   Fun drink book.
This book was too good to pass on and as I have yet to make one, just the idea of having drinks based on great literature is awesome. I am looking forward to try them soon ''.
   Great gift.
Got this for a gift and is awesome! Every page is another recipe with a twist to a great piece of literature and I love the illustrations. I'm going to order one for my own bar area and is going to be a go to gift from now onwards.
Not as clever as I wanted it to be
My expectations were probably too high ; what I was hoping for was less just pun-names on drinks and more drinks made with an understanding of and deep love for literature. I was yearning for something like the Cherry Poppins to contain more British-based liquors with a flavor associated with the story itself. Basically, I wanted more than puns, which is abundant in this book. It would have been cool for someone who spent more time reading and analyzing literature, and a mixologist to be involved in the making of this instead of just renaming a bunch of existing cocktails with cute names.
   Super punny recipe book.
A book of punny cocktail recipes. Each recipe is dedicated to a great work with a small description of the book or the author and a recipe for a cocktail. The recipes range from imaginative to quite standard using even aquafaba. I bought this for the bar in our Living Room, which is themed for our favorite books and films. This is accompanied by Are You There God? It's me, Margarita and Gone With the Gin. Overall, it is a really great collection and addition to our themed room!
   A White Elephant Must!
Bought this and another cocktail book as my White Elephant Gift. The poor gift was stolen and pronounced dead the second time the game started! The friend who did not end up with it ended up ordering a copy for herself! Since then, we have tried the cocktails and are a delight!
   Makes a great gift
If you know someone who loves to try new drinks and also loves classic literature, this is the book for them. It is good quality with beautiful art work. Recipes make sense and you want to try them. Defiantly a unique and fun book for yourself or as a gift.
   Fun and neat book
My daughter-in-law really liked this book. She thought it was funny. As a high school teacher, she thought it was cute, too. It is a handheld book with quite a few varieties of drinks in it with alcohol that is not hard to find in the store.
