Book Overview

Detective Lindsay Boxer's investigation into the disappearance of three teachers escalates from missing persons to murder in this shocking Women's Murder Club thriller (Lisa Gardner, #1 NYT bestselling author).
For a trio of colleagues, an innocent night out after class ends in a deadly torture session. They vanish without a clue -- until a body turns up. With the safety of San Francisco's entire school system at stake, Lindsay has never been under more pressure. As the chief of police and the press clamor for an arrest in the school night case, Lindsay turns to her best friend, investigative journalist Cindy Thomas. Together, Lindsay and Cindy take a new approach to the case, and unexpected facts about the victims leave them stunned.
While Lindsay is engrossed in her investigation, her husband Joe meets an Eastern European woman who claims to have seen a notorious war criminal -- long presumed dead -- from her home country. Before Lindsay can verify the woman's statement, Joe's mystery informant joins the ranks of the missing women. Lindsay, Joe, and the entire Women's Murder Club must pull together to protect their city and one another -- not from a ghost, but from a true monster.

The 18th Abduction (Women’s Murder Club)
I was not sure if I would like this book after reading some of the reviews. The last Murder Club book was disappointing, but I thought it was better this time. I realized that there was no Julie or Brady in the story. The way Joe and Lindsay worked together made me like them. I want to know what life was like for Anna after the trial, because I think the ending came so fast.

   Not 18th Anything
The story is so weak it takes place in the past. Sexual assaults and murders are the majority of the action. There is no evidence that the murderer was linked to his crimes. There are lots of loose ends and little surprises that don't enhance the plot. This story does not fit in with the Women's Murder Club series. Disappointing.

   Going downhill
James Patterson's books are the only ones I buy anymore since the others are always disappointing. I was disappointed with the book because I didn't like the subject matter, but I understood the 5 years ago timeline part. I think he cranks out too many books.

   Time to end it
We waited a year for No 18 and were disappointed. It was worse than No 17 Lindsay and Joe have a little girl. She was ignored after playing a huge roll in previous books. There was no surprise or curve ball in the book. The previous book was very predictable. Will not be waiting for the next boring part of the Women's Murder Club. The series has ended for me.

   Good Book
This book was good. I was happy that there was a different story line in this book, but I was disappointed that it was back in the early days of Lindsay Boxer's marriage. I waited a year to find out about her disease and how it would work with her and of course being in the early days nothing was mentioned about it. I have to wait until October to find out. Please, if you leave us hanging again, let us know what happens in the next book so we can wait to find out how things go. We appreciate that you didn't make us wait another year. I peeked at the 19 th Christmas to see if you mentioned it in the book, but didn't read about it, because I wanted to read it in the 19 th Christmas. We did not have to wait a year.

   When does book take place
I was confused when some of the characters weren't mentioned in the James Patterson books. Lindsey and Joe have a daughter. Does that mean 5 years from our current time to make a book, or is the 5 years already in the future making book in current time? I have never written a review before that is questionable, don't leave readers hanging wondering what's going on please, I love your twists and turns and plot of the story.

   Another great book
If the author had not left out Lindsey and Joe's child, I would have given it 5 stars. The dog was there but there was no mention of the baby. You can't change the baby that you wrote about in this series.

   Fantastic
Another great reading by the author. The book couldn't be read in two sittings because of the good story line. I can't wait for the next book.

   What happened to 2 characters
The book was enjoyable but I have 2 questions for Mr. Patterson. Where was Joe and lindsay's beloved daughter? I was a bit annoyed that there wasn't any mention of the above in the series.
