   Having read and enjoyed these books as a child
Having enjoyed these books as a child and reading them, I was thrilled to find this collection. I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my eight-year-old daughter. It took her a few tries to get into the book. The writing is so much more interesting and fresh than most books for this age range, I think it was a bit off-putting for her. Eventually, I read the first chapter loud to her and then she was hooked. The character Pippi itself looks at the world through her own colored glasses as we enter her high world of glitty stories with heart and tons of humor. At the same time, she reveals the ridiculous rules and habits that we all follow, but never question. Pippi encourages the reader to look at the everyday mundane around us in an exciting and completely off-beat way.

   Great for a reluctant reader!
I have a 10-year-old daughter, who struggles with reading and therefore doesn 't enjoy reading. It is difficult to find books she is interested in at a level that she can read. I was browsing Amazon and stumbled upon this book. I've forgotten how much I loved Pippi as a child. My daughter consumed these 3 books, she loves Pippi absolutely. This is a very nice version, glossy cover, beautiful pages, large print size and nice illustrations. It's perfect for a reluctant reader. The stories are big and the funny text plus illustrations make this a much easier read.

I have a good taste for the way books are published : cover, typeface, illustrations, paper. My review is only for these things because the Lingren's, this super-spilling book does not need my critic, everybody knows it is super for children. As for the way the story is reproduced by publishers it looks simply great. It ends with a moving chapter about the author, the book is pleasant, illustrations are funny and not without talent. If you want to have an ideal edition of this little classic in your home library, this publication is perfection itself.

   Living Independenently the Pippi Way!
Astrid Lingren thought out the Independent Living situation for Pippi all the way down to her impossible strength, Pippi spends only a few of the gold pieces her father gives her, cooks, cleans, self-defenses, makes three bad judgment calls, jumping off a cliff, firing a gun and drinking eight drugs mixed together. Showing independence does not mean that you're PERFECT the whole time. AN INSPIRATION for both children and adults! The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking Omnibus is a nice hardcover book that includes COLOR full-page illustrations making it worth the price and ink drawings, with a table of contents for each of the three books, and is lightweight.
