Great reference book!!! Great Reference Book ''. I use it with my patients in therapy, and helps them understand the different components of anxiety in an easy and visual way.

   Wish I had this when I was 16...
If I ever get a chance to go back in time, I am going back to 1987 and force my 16 year old self to complete it.

   Find something else!
I have been using this workbook with my therapist and we both hate it. I ’m going back to my old workbook or finding something else. There are so many charts that it makes me want to scream. As one review stated, they needed a Xanax after working in this book! This book is presented poorly. Example : Go back to Chart 233a and 467b to work on Chart 566k!!! I prefer something more simplified. It goes WAY to fast and I have scribbled all over my notebook how I hate this book! My therapist made me choose it and I thought it would be helpful because I am a perfectionist and I thought about all the charts, will this be fun? Lol WRONG is a WRONG Lol. I have used the Bourne Workbook and the one by David Carbonell, highly recommend both. I meet my therapist every two weeks over the phone due to Covid and we both find this book highly frustrating.

   Good stuff!
I have been around the anxiety block a number of times in my 68 years and find this workbook very helpful. Reading and working through it, I have picked up even more info that helps me rationally look at my anxiety. To understand that you aren 't alone and that there is a reason for it to deflate the whole cycle of anxiety. You won 't be rid of your anxiety, but you will gain some tools to help you in your lifelong relationship with it. Also, no you don 't have to read the book cover to cover the intro, discuss various ways of digesting it.

   Great concepts and I use them everyday BUT.....
I have had anxiety all my life and use CBT to get through. But I'm going to assume that these authors, the originators of this wonderful therapy, were themselves patients for OCD, probably for OCD. The endless checking self testsworksheets could be pared to an nth and a patient could be out there in the trenches and victorious over this insidious affliction from day one. My eternal respect and gratitude to these drs. I use the best of their suggestions daily, but abandoned their book, worksheets and diagrams and case histories for other authors who have boiled the brew more quickly, compactly and effectively. CBT is great and Amazon has some wonderful books and workbooks. !

   The Cure!
This workbook is life-changing. Obviously, there is a lot of work that you must put into it. I devoted an hour a month to reading the worksheets and doing the book, and it still took about a month to complete. Definitely worth every second I invested to putting the effort to rid myself of anxiety. If you are serious about dealing with anxiety and doing the work to make it happen, then this book is for you. It is like going through an intense 4-6 week CBT bootcamp... but afterwards the rewards and relief are priceless!

When you use this book with a counselor or a therapist, it will help you in navigating through it. It has some information and really helps describe the issue and how to deal or fix it.

   If you’re thinking about it, just buy it. You deserve it!
I wish I knew sooner of this workbook. In today's world, most doctors fill you with medication without even suggesting therapy. I bought this book as a tool to use while trying to understand my panic and anxiety and get my life back while looking for a new therapist and tapering my medication. I have a lot going on here. I am a recovering alcoholic who no longer uses a bottle to self-medicate and who is no longer able to take a pill and feel fine. I want my life back on my terms ''. I am fairly confident that this book will help me become the person I once was, the mother, the wife.

   A little hard to do all of the homework that comes with this book
This is a good book if you follow all the homework that comes with it. I found that a therapist would work better. You need a coach to help you with this book. There is too much back and forth between the work sheets that makes this self-help a little difficult.
