An Amazing Fantasy Based on Biblical Concepts

Jenny L. Cote captures the imagination of the juvenile reader in The Ark, the Reed and the Fire Cloud. Liz, a young Scott Terrier and Max, a petite black cat from France, follow the call of the maker to come to me. During his journey across Europe to the Middle East, they become leaders of a menagerie of worldwide animals, arriving on time to meet Noah and board his Ark before the rains came. Cote comes through with an ominous plot to kill Noah, the discovery of a stowaway on the Ark and an encounter with Charlatan, the Evil One. Reed has created a winner in the Ark, Cotes and Fire Cloud. In the near future, I am sure we hear more of Max and Liz's magical adventure stories.

The Ark , The Reed And The Fire Cloud

He is a brave dog, led by the maker on an adventure. He follows a cloud that looks like it is on fire and feels that the maker is speaking to him through the cloud. On his journey, Max finds that he is not the only animal that believes it receives messages from the maker. They are all drawn to Noah's Ark. I really love stories that give the idea that animals have a deep thought process like humans. We have Max, who is brave and believes that the maker brings them all together for a reason. There is Liz, a black cat who is a library of knowledge.

Fun for the whole family!

I read this to my 7 years and 8 girls old and we all love it! They like books, but not as much as I would like, but they never wanted me to stop reading this book! Jenny L. Cote does a great job in incorporating new Bible stories and taking a familiar adventure! It not only alerts the reader to what is written in the Bible, but also brings a new appreciation for it! I will purchase the rest and I hope she continues to write more!

Wonderful reading for children
Derived From Web , May 30, 2022
Wonderful reading for children. My grandson, who is 10, has read the whole series. He asks me to read it. I enjoyed it and did it. The author has a biblical imagination of how it could have been in great times. Great adventures plus being more educated in the Bible.

Wonderful, Creative Story
Derived From Web , Feb 12, 2022
The story imagines how the animals came to the Ark, how the voyage went on and a new world at the end. This is a book written for younger readers, but the bookstores tell me that adults are reading this as well. These are perfect for reading to children or grandchildren out of sight, Lewis and Tolkien.

Overall pretty good
Derived From Web , Sep 27, 2020
We read it with our children before they went to bed. They enjoyed it overall, but some bits were a little too far-fetched or fantastical for even their liking. And our middle-school boys did not appreciate all the romantic language between the animal couples. It also helped bring the story of Noah's Ark alive and get them to think about what it might have been like for Noah's family. Our children also enjoyed the details and research that went into the behavior of the animals and the different geographic locations they were in.

Kid approved

My children loved this book! We have told several friends that we must read it. I read it aloud to them using all sorts of voices the best I could, which helped me to love it even more. We pulled a map several times to see where the animals came from. The kids can 't wait to start the second book and get it. They're hooked on the series!

This is the BEST book I have ever read!
Derived From Web , Jan 31, 2020
I have read over a hundred books and this is my favorite book series overall. I love it because it is full of comedy, adventure and sadness, but in the end it all wins over all good wins. My favorite characters are Max, AI, Liz, and Kate. I am already booking three and going on to book four when it arrives. We also purchased the audiobook one to listen to at night! I want to thank Ms. Cote for writing these amazing books! Reviewed by A 11 yr old boy,

When I first found out about this author, I wanted to start with a book one. It was a well-loved copy. Each chapter you will read a hint or a clue that helps you solve the mystery of history as you remember it.
