   Simple recipes everyone should use
The recipes are simple and fun to make. I know that she has written every cookbook she wants.

New and different ideas for cooking
I found out in our local newspaper about this book. I usually don 't read cook - books, but this one is really good, and readable like a interesting novel. She describes natural ways to use many ingredients. I haven 't cooked with this book yet, but it is good reading.

Excellent "beginner" book, but also for "seasoned" cooks
I'm a pretty decent cook, but I am captivated by what Alice writes here. It's something I look forward to eating and cooking completely. This book is great!

   If Only
I could cook only if I could only cook. Alice, however, teaches me some tricks. Like a dry rub on a chicken and leaving the chicken to warm up closer to the room temperature before popping it into the oven to roast. Is what a composed salad is and why one should take the leaves lightly and impose the weight of the composition -- ie -- slivers of almonds, cut beets and dates or egg slices -- you don 't want smushing the beautiful light leaves?

   more than a cook book
Anyone who wants to learn cooking should read this. It is not about recipes, but about learning how to cook. Which will provide a much better understanding of food and meal preparation.

   The Art of Simple Food...
In every respect, Superb is superb. Just down to Earth, good info about simple food. What would one want more?

   Beautiful book
Indeed, the recipes are simple. Probably nothing in this book that you can just google ''. BUT, it is fascinating to learn as Alice Walters from someone as in tune with her ingredients. And remember that being simple is not always easy or boring, and sometimes it is nice to read through a cook book that doesn 't try too hard to impress with exotic ingredients and techniques.

   Just Ok for Vegetarians
A friend suggested I try this book, so I bought a used copy. I haven 't eaten any animals that walk for 15 + years on land and reading recipes about cooking dead animal parts is just revolting to me. I like this book better as soon as I cut all those pages out. If you are a vegetarian, you will understand. If you are not?
