Book Overview

A prolific writer, bestselling novelist, and world-renowned philosopher, Ayn Rand defined a full system of thought--from epistemology to aesthetics. Her writing is so extensive and the range of issues she covers so enormous that those interested in finding her discussions of a given topic may have to search through many sources to locate the relevant passage. THE AYN RAND LEXICON brings together all the key ideas of her philosophy of Objectivism. Begun under Rand's supervision, this unique volume is an invaluable guide to her philosophy or reason, self-interest and laissez-faire capitalism--the philosophy so brilliantly dramatized in her novels THE FOUNTAINHEAD, WE THE LIVING, and ATLAS SHRUGED.

Still One of the Best Books on Objectivism and Ayn Rand
This book is very good. Her ideas on any given topic are scattered throughout her many books. Quick access to all her ideas can be found in the Ayn Rand Lexicon. I' ve used it for many years and will continue to use it. Today, this book is more valuable than ever, as Ayn Rand is so often misrepresented. It's a useful reference for anyone who is interested in ideas or Ayn Rand.

great intro into the epistemological world of ayn rand
If you don't have time to read her books, you can cross reference her ideas here to get started. For those new to her work, I suggest starting with ' altruism'. How long have I been shoveling other people's shit instead of developing myself? When you find out, don't be horrified.

Superior compilation of Ayn Rand's philosophy
This book is an excellent resource for the broad spectrum of her valuable insights as I am an ardent admirer of the purity and simplicity of Ayn Rand's philosophy. Collecting each topic into short pieces from her many works is an efficient way to quickly grasp her ideals. The book has more value than it costs.

A GREAT BOOK OF IMMENSE VALUE FOR ALL RATIONAL INDIVIDUALS
The most valuable guide to a rational philosophy has been produced by Ayn Rand. There are a number of questions that have been answered. The topics are listed and quoted in an orderly fashion. This is a must for everyone who is interested in studying Objectivism.

Awesome reference for both ends of the spectrum
If you' re like me, you' re interested in Ayn Rand's philosophy but not the full- blown Objectivist. There is a wide range of commentary by Ayn Rand in this book. All of the material in this book can be viewed for free. I got the book so I could read it while I was not on the computer. This book contains commentary from a jackass named Leonard Peikhoff, who is the founder of the Ayn Rand Institute. He is known to be an idiot and deviates from the original philosophy. This book is great.

   Gem among books on philosophy
It's highly recommended if you' re into objectivism and philosophy in general. It was an efficient way to digest her ideology. Taking small ideas and analyzing them under her philosophy quickens conceptualization greatly.

   A must-read in today’s crazy world!
It's a must- have for anyone who believes that Individual Rights are the foundation of this Nation. It is as important as it was decades ago, possibly even more so. Look up the piece that came from the reference work and find a great quote.
