Not what I thought it would be
A relative of mine had a stroke and his vision was affected, so I was interested in this book. I was hoping that the book had more meat on the bone. The author is a very skilled writer, but his writing is antiseptic and lacks emotion and feeling.
   Terrific read!
Frank Bruni's journey out of a dark place was chronicled in this story. He chronicles both pain and happiness with understanding, leading the reader to new insights and I have been there too. It's worth the time.
   Inspirational Read
I liked this book. The author is a great writer in the English language. He opens his mind to the fact that he lost partial sight in one eye. He looks on the positive side and tries to use his situation as a learning experience. He inspired the reader to do the same regardless of their disability. He talks about interviews with seniors who have survived and suffered in the aging process. I don't think anyone would want to read this book.
   what a gift!
This book is a great gift. Beautifully written and honest. A swell of gratitude and the urge to call Frank Bruni and say thank you for writing the book.
   Honesty from the heart
It is difficult to imagine a more honest review of a life. The courage and detail make you feel that he overcame each issue. A good read.
I read this in two sittings and I loved it. At a time of crisis, this book elevated my thinking. Excellent.
   Overcoming the dark times.
Top of my reading list. Frank has first hand knowledge of seeing the world in a different way. The author has already made some of the observations I have already made, but there are many I have not. Thanks for sharing this with us.
This book will live with me forever
I am not from the NYC area and I have never read any of Frank Bruni's books. The Beauty of Dusk On Vision Lost and Found was recommended to me by my NYC sister-in-law. I bought it on the internet so I can read it in a book. The book is cosmopolitan yet so down to earth and from the heart. Frank Bruni's columns will be followed by me. Through his narration, I felt like I was walking with my first cousin. It's so real yet uplifting.
   Beautifully written. Poignant. Inspiring.
Frank Bruni wrote about a condition we both share in his new book. The disease takes you by surprise. It's surprising that we haven't heard about it. It seems crazy that it is irreversible. Many things happening now seem impossible. His writing is lovely. The most hardened reader should be lifted by his personal story and interviews. This is a great book. We need more of that now. Frank, thank you for writing this book.
