Amazing children and young adult author
I read them in the 70s and have now shared them with my daughter. If you like the Little House on the Prairie books, I highly recommend these books. It follows 3 friends from the age of 5 in 1897 and follows them to the high school. They are based on the authors'childhood and real life friends from Mankato, MN. Their homes are still there, as are the places you read about.

   DELIGHTFUL FOR ALL AGES.
My friend, who is an avid Maude Hart Lovelace fan, told me about the Betsy-Tacy series. I purchased this for my granddaughter when she and her brother arrived for a visit from Portland, OR. We used this book for the bedtime reading each night of their visit. Surprisingly, our grandson has really gotten into this book. Though the pictures are illustrations, they loved looking at them to see how the girls grew with each new book. We only made it through book 1 and book 2 and part of book 3 before their return to Portland. They will hopefully finish books 3 and 4 on their own. The antics of the girls is delightful, and a few good moral lessons as well. When it got into their cutting their own hair, even I was intrigued and lots of laughter.

One Of The Best Series Ever Written For Girls...
The stories about Betsy, Tacy and occasionally Tib were stories I loved as a child, as did my daughter and my granddaughter. I can conceive nothing less from my great-grandson, who will receive this book as one of her Christmas presents from me this year. I will purchase all the other Betsy and Tacy books as my granddaughter matures and until she has them all.

   Betsy-Tacy - THE BEST
Maud Hart Lovelace and the Betsy-Tacy series. It is so refreshing to go back to a time when things were much simpler, naive and idyllic. Since I was a little girl, I have been reading this series and reading it now. Early on, share it with your daughters before they discover tv, computers, tablets and cell phones!

   Perfectly Wholesome and Delightful stories
My children LOVE bethsy-tacy stories. At bedtime, we read a delightful chapter. Perfect for little ones - no serious conflicts, some mishaps, some adventure, lots of good values. The girls grow up throughout the chapters. We stopped when the girls were about 12, so our 4 & 6 - year old had some time to catch up. It is not an easy wait for our children, but they look forward to it.

   Betsy Tacy Book
Remembering how much I loved the Betsy-Tacy books as a child, I was delighted to find it on Amazon. I enjoyed reading the four books and rereading the fourth book, I never read the fourth book. Plan to share more and hope to purchase with grandchildren. It brings you in touch with your childhood imagination and a simpler view of the world.
