Book Overview

The Body Electric tells the fascinating story of our bioelectric selves. Robert O. Becker, a pioneer in the filed of regeneration and its relationship to electrical currents in living things, challenges the established mechanistic understanding of the body. He found clues to the healing process in the long-discarded theory that electricity is vital to life. But as exciting as Becker's discoveries are, pointing to the day when human limbs, spinal cords, and organs may be regenerated after they have been damaged, equally fascinating is the story of Becker's struggle to do such original work. The Body Electric explores new pathways in our understanding of evolution, acupuncture, psychic phenomena, and healing.

   Very scientific, but great information
It is very scientifically written so that I sometimes got lost. But I did get the information that I needed out. It is an interesting book for those who read science looovveeee and not bored of reading all the kind of research. It was helpful to me more for an overview of the topic.

   Fantastic Book
I read this book several years ago. The information contained in this book is top notch and not easily accessible elsewhere. I find myself constantly returning to this book and again as a reference for my own work. What can I say more? All five stars on the way.

Good introduction to electricity effects on the human body ...
First sections of the book are just interesting, but the book starts to hum in later chapters as human effects of electricity and EMR are discussed.

Great idea here - but written for scientists and Ph. D's: Only!!
The scope of the book is quite wide, and they are no doubt brilliant authors and have put a lot of effort into it, but unless you are very close to getting your MD, you'll have a difficult time reading through this. While the subject is very engaging and important, like most very smart people, they've somehow made the decision to write this for a select few, rather than for the public at large, who ironically could benefit greatly from the subject matter. Well... What is new... What do you think?

In this book, the author details the science he ...
In this book the author details the science that he has carried out that shows life is electric. He starts from regenerating legs on salamanders and frogs in the 1940s and goes on to how people are influenced by natural electromagnetic fields, psychic phenomena, the rise of EMF pollution and its widespread impacts on human health, how industrial and military interests are actively working to protect knowledge of and study of these harmful effects, and the degree to which politics has infiltrated scientific inquiry. A useful, albeit disquieting read.

   Dr. Electric
He told his researches, gleanings and works in this book. The book could have been half as long and still have the important stuff crossed. The narrative was too heavy for my blood and I am a trained physician. The engineers would get more out of the book than the physicians. Becker might have admitted, which would have been a bit embarrassing. The doctors generally shy away from electromagnetism and the like. Often, Becker spoke in his Body Electric about this situation.

   Print is to light
The print is so light that it is barely readable. Like the press was running out of ink when it was printed. The eyes were very difficult to read and very hard to see.

If you are interested in Energy Medicine....Read This!
What is going on while we focus on other things and things that don 't matter? A whole world of wonder a lot. We don 't think about it, but when you start paying attention and focusing your mind on your inner world, you can begin to feel and be aware of the Lee Tribal world within and without you. I bought this while researching Pulsed Electro Magnetic Frequency and its ability to halt and address disease processes.
