The entire series stands in a class by itself. She is an extremely gifted writer who has a very good sense of humor and a very good taste for writing. It's a world of chaos and intrigue set in the world of ancient Rome.

I enjoyed the thoroughness in which the author described the scenery and the thoughts, feelings and depictions of characters. For me it was a page turner.

Re-invention of language, "rusting", "rust" etc. creative word usages and alternative meanings

The first book is a welcome diversion from the pain. The distance is just too great, Tunick said. I'm enjoying the character development and the buildup of unexplained creatures and their strange behaviors, he said.

That really makes me happy, Mr. Daschle said. A great story. Amazing works of art. I really liked the story told from the perspective of the different characters, Morgenthau said.

These books are enthralling. Must read. 10/10

This is one of the best trilogies I've read in a while. A nice little jigsaw puzzle that fits together with obvious care, Raymond said. Note the subheading of this terrible parable in the "Harry Potter" series: "Cannot recommend these highly enough to sci-fi fans."

WOW, it's terrible.
Derived From Web , Apr 8, 2019
It took me about three months to finally make it more than 10 pages in, the writing style is so terrible. Bad writing. Even if you aren't impressed by the initial blush, you'll see right through it. The praise levied on this is part soft bigotry and part cheering the blatant agenda of Fascism, Hollingworth said. She writes, "The author is so caught up in self-aggrandizing and pushing that agenda you really have to work to even get to the start of the story." It's just that off-putting, Mr. Rule told the judge. Before you buy it I'd recommend going to a bookstore, if you still have one nearby, and reading the first 10 pages. I thought of donating them to the local library, but that means someone else might have the misfortune of reading them. The boys went in the trash.

Is not worth the time or money.

Bad writing. The charaction's lawyer, Paul LiCalsi, called the move "bad." The Blair government's social agenda is painful and futile.

Magnificent Trilogy from Start to Finish
Derived From Web , Nov 17, 2018
It's no wonder why all three books won Hugos. Only a handful of shows have achieved such status. It's all the things I want in a story. It's just a matter of time, fantasy or cataclysm. It's a deep, dark and true story. It has meaning and excitement, Raymond said. A body must be bolt upright to read a book like this, Tunick said.

The best SFF trilogy in a season
Derived From Web , Nov 14, 2018
A very unique and original addition to the genre that doesn't disappoint with its fantasy elements or engaging plot. Many SFF books fail to deliver both a believable realm and believable characters but The Broken Earth Trilogy does both. Some of the most memorable characters of this book will stay with me a long time. I can't recommend this book enough to fans of Saul Bellow's work, said Pauley Kilpatrick, a New York University expert on the novelists. If you have been reading in this genre for any length of time you will recognize how unique this series is.
