Very fast moving street lit. My first Ashley and JaQuavis but not my last

With realistic characters and their backgrounds nicely fleshed out, this story moves quickly and each chapter brings more page turning action. So glad it's not simply one book, because that would be over too fast! This is a three-book set, with each book building on the last. Ordered the continuation of the series as well as another different series of books by Simon & Schuster. If you like Iceberg and Goines, you will probably like these more modern books of the same street-lit style.

Good story, amateur writing
Derived From Web , Feb 23, 2022
It was a book that made me want to read more. I would have given 4 stars, but the writing style was amateur and there were too many typos. Also, I hated the ghetto, cliche names that were used, like "Miamor," "Breeze," "Murder" or "Mecca." I also found the Haitian dialect offensive and cringeworthy. I'm not Haitian but I'm sure the way their dialect was depicted in the book was inaccurate. The book made them sound very uneducated, which I didn't appreciate as a woman of color. For urban fiction, it's a good story. Toni Morrison and Alice Walker did not have children.

Buy it!!!
Derived From Web , Apr 1, 2021
It's great to see the series coming to an end. I ordered this book and related materials separately from Amazon. com. I got this book because I've read books 1-3 years ago and I wanted to refresh my memory. I can't say I've seen the entire series, but I have seen parts of it. The legacy of the cartel will live on through the years to come. There are so many great books to read, even if you're not a writer. I am currently working on book six. This book is definitely worth a read, because it has all the makings of a great tabloid thriller, love triangle, and more.
