Book fell completely apart

The book fell completely apart, obviously. It started around page 10 and then I would flip to the next page every time, that would come off. This aside, the story was pretty decent. If it came out, I would read the sequel. The artwork is absolutely stunning and I'll be looking for Jen Bartel's work in the future. My advice to anyone who wants to give this a go is to buy it digitally.

Very good for fans of modern fantasy and magic
Derived From Web , Sep 8, 2019
I loved it once I got into it. If you like feminist and magic comic books and fantasy stories, particularly ones who are also more ethnically diverse, you will probably enjoy this graphic novel. I was just sad that not many volumes have yet come out, but that means only more things to hope for, hopefully. After catching Saga and this satisfied that need for brightly colored diverse graphic novels, I was looking for something fun. A few of the elements of different magical clans battled and a girl who doesn 't know who she was then finds herself in a magical Romeo and Juliet situation, but still had its own unique spin. I also recommend this for Buffy, Angel and Charmed fans, given its magic wars in the modern California setting.

Fantastical and Fun

It took a little bit of work to understand everything that was going on, but I was not confused overall, the artwork is gorgeous and I like that the main character is kind of a mess. I went into this without knowing anything about it, including the genre, so everything was a surprise. There are wizards, called the paragons and beasts and magic and secrets and spies!

A Must Have
Derived From Web , Jul 11, 2019
For its story and its visuals, highly recommend this book! Was not too happy with the condition in which the book arrived to me, as it looked like it had some water damage on its binding. Nevertheless, the story was well paced and the visualization of the world and characters was amazing! I am a big fan of Jen Bartel's work and Sam Humphries writing and I can not wait to see what this duo cooks next.

Wow!

I added a few pictures so that you can see the beautiful artwork! I felt the story itself was confusing, but great, but this is not going to stop me from receiving the rest of the series as it comes out. I want to know what happens next and look at more beautiful art. Happy reading! '' Mel '' has been added by Andersson.

Loved it

I read it as soon as I pre-ordered the first issue. Some of the themes are very similar to the tv show The Magicians, but where this show is disappointed, this story did not. I absolutely love the artwork and the story is interesting enough to keep you engaged. I ate this volume in a sitting and felt satisfied and yet hoping for another volume.
