The Club is the previously untold inside story of how English soccer's Premier League became the wildest, richest, most popular sports product on the planet.
This is a sports and business tale of how money, ambition, and twenty-five years of drama remade an ancient institution into a twenty-first-century entertainment empire. No one knew it when their experiment began, but without any particular genius or acumen, the motley cast of billionaires and hucksters behind the modern Premier League struck gold.
Pretty soon, everyone wanted to try their luck, from Russian oligarchs to Emirati sheikhs, American tycoons, and Asian Tiger titans. Some succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Some lost everything. Today, players are sold for tens of millions, clubs are valued in the billions, and games are beamed out to nearly two hundred countries, all while the league struggles to preserve its English soul.
Deeply researched and drawing on one hundred exclusive interviews, including the key decision makers at every major English team, The Club is the definitive and wildly entertaining narrative of how the Premier League took over the world.
It takes about 8 Hours and 7 minutes on average for a reader to read The Club: How The English Premier League Became The Wildest, Richest, Most Disruptive Force In Sports. This is based on the average reading speed of 250 Words per minute.

I was recommended this book by an avid footballer who only recently discovered the book. I cannot wait to read it. I wish I had more time to read, but I already have a stack of books on the nightstand. The seller did an excellent job of delivering on time, said Vincent. The book was well packaged and was readily available, Mr. Dhaliwal said. 5 stars.

History of the Modern Game
Derived From Web , Aug 1, 2019
The Club is a quite brilliant account of how the game was not only perceived, but brought about by the advent of video games. It is especially intriguing for those who can remember the state of football prior to the Premier League, and the personalities, from owners, managers, players and officials that permeated the game.

Before that English football fans used to brawl in stadiums made of wood and chicken wire. It's a multinational corporation that makes huge profits. In his book, "The Fall of the American Masters," Simon Book tells the story of how the sport built US-style stadiums and monetized everything possible. Only in the US do we have a team that plays football. TV rights are for a mere $3 million.

MUST READ FOR EVERYONE IN THE FOOTBALL INDUSTRY
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2019
I have been working in this industry for five years, Mr. Dhaliwal said. To get updated about best practices and trends, I try to read every book related to football management. However, the ball does not go in by chance, and Soccernomics was the holy grail of my life. Until I started to read The Club, I never thought I would say this. I will buy more copies so that I can share them with my friends and colleagues inside and outside the industry. Thanks to Pauley and Sara Fields for this wonderful book. Gustavo is a Brazilian soccer player who was twice injured in a collision.

Would even recommend to non-football fans
Derived From Web , Jan 12, 2019
When I read the first edition of Soccernomics, I didn't think I could like a book about football as much. Yes, I have since. It's a great book, said Frey. Well written, funny, interesting, and full of so many things I didn't know. For PL die-hards, reading this book is a little like reading a book after you've seen the movie you spend a lot of time reading! being excited to relive some pieces of your club's history, anticipating a build-up to some key events in Premier League history, but you find out SO MUCH backstory, it's fascinating! If you are a football fan, or even a non-football fan, this book is for you.

Derived From Web , Dec 26, 2018
It was a Christmas present for my brother. He's the most soccer-mad person I've ever met, Beckham said. If he likes it, you know it's good. He really likes it," Blair said of the exercise. In fact, I would have bought this book for my brother.
