   Overly Intelligent, Dense Workbook
This workbook is very dense on information. In the beginning, it indicates that it is intended as bibliotherapy, but when you are depressed and fighting, it is difficult to get through. The activities come with very little explanation and the examples weren 't helpful. I could not even understand one of the activities for my client because I couldn 't quite understand them as a clinician. The workbook could be useful for individuals trying to manage depression on their own and are pretty high-functioning. Someone really stuck in depressed thoughts will probably become overwhelmed rather than helped.

   Life saving workbook
This book has been exactly what I needed. I always wanted to change my depressed thinking and get out of my negative moods, but I never knew how. I have used it in my counseling sessions and has done wonders. I am half way through and I have already smelt positive differences in my thinking patterns. I am no longer a negative thinker or sinking into a deep hole. If I see myself becoming sinking, this book has shown me ways to snap out of it quickly. You need to perform the exercises that the book tells you to do! You can only get out of it, what you put into it. As long as you can fully dedicate yourself to reading and understanding the exercises and make it easy to change and follow, you can find your way out of depressed, negative thinking and gain true inner peace, higher self-worth and increased self-confidence. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to get out of the negative thinking and become a more positive and happy person.

   Not with buying
I thought this book would provide insight into my depression group that I lead as a social worker. This book was even over my head, so I can 't even imagine what the children would think if I gave them worksheets from this book. I will sell this book back to Amazon.

   Reads Like a Research Paper
While it had some good ideas, I found it to be a huge chore to walk through. A lot of exercises, especially the ABCDE one, were ridiculously complicated. If a person is in the midst of an active depression, this material is simply too difficult to use.

Like Shooting a Bear with a BB Gun.
I find it hard to believe that effective treatment has been repeatedly shown to be cognitively behavioural for depression. The participants were perhaps only mildly depressed. The imagery in this book is like psychological Tinker Toys. God can help us if this is the state of art in psychotherapy. Finding ways to stimulate each of the senses and telling yourself that depression is not only mildly effective, but is not only temporary. After one of the interventions in the book, I may feel better 10% if I am not at all. Is this really what the government agencies recommend and insurance companies pay for?

   Great book with helpful advice
It is a good book and I am sure that it is super helpful for others. I have called them “ sad episodes ” as I like to call them, where it is not 247 Sad, but once a week or so a burst. The advice would help someone who is looking for a full time job on themselves. It's a lot of work and I was not ready for all that, so I passed it off to a friend so that it could still be used.

   Not for real depression
I swear, the author of this book clearly does not understand people with depression. It is hard enough to get us to scrub or brush our teeth, and they expect us to read all that? I thought there would be a lot more activities, but it is 90% reading and 10% activities.

   Helpful — good explanations!
I found it helpful for this purpose, but in general, its very basic information if you are looking at a licensed perspective. I recommend this product, however, to people who are struggling with depression and need a step by step guide to help them through on their own.

I guess this could help people with mild depression.
It is written for someone who is still high, but somewhat depressed. One suggestion included : sign up for a dance or exercise class... thanks buddy, I wish I could shower once a week, but yeah, I 'll try your suggestion. I ordered this book on Amazon bc, but I don 't have the energy to go to a store, but ok. This might be very helpful for some people, though i might not be the target audience, so 3 stars.
