Book Overview

Just one boy . . .

Jack McKinley is an ordinary kid with an extraordinary problem. In six months, Jack is going to die.

Just one mission . . .

After Jack collapses in the middle of a busy street, he's whisked off to a strange hospital in a strange place. There are armed guards and weird kids and fantastic creatures, not to mention no parents, no phones, and no possibility of escape. The place is run by an odd professor named Bhegad, who tells Jack that what's killing him is a genetic trait inherited from the prince of a long-lost civilization. It's destroying Jack by making him too strong too fast. He'll need to stay strong, though--because it's up to him to save the world.

Just one problem . . .

That long-lost civilization sank when seven magic Loculi were stolen and hidden around the world. Now Jack and his friends must find the Loculi before they fall into the wrong hands. If they don't, they'll never be cured, that lost world will rise, oceans will be displaced, and life as we know it will pretty much end.

Seven wonders

No one ever asked Jack if he wanted to be a hero. He just has to be one. One kid. One mission. One big problem. The thrills begin in The Colossus Rises, the first installment in the newest adventure from master storyteller Peter Lerangis.

   Five Stars for Seven Wonders
I bought this book for my little 12-year-old brother and he loved it. He then proceeded to ask my mom to take him to the library to get the other books. He is now all caught up and waiting for the next book to be released. I would recommend this book for middle school and maybe for mature elementary students.
so happy to have found another author he enjoys
My son has received this book fro Christmas, he has been devouring it. Can 't stop reading it. Continues to come out and read passages that he finds humorous or suspenseful. We had run out of the books of Riordan, so happy to have found another author he enjoys.
Non stop action, no pause but a good yarn to start the series
I read the whole series of the 7 Wonders and could not stop. I really enjoyed this series, even though I found the action a little too much back to back with no pause to meet the characters well. For sure, a stop action without pause is not possible. The first book starts the series and leaves you ready for the rest. If you are prepared to spend some time reading seriously, go for it!
   good read
It started off slow in establishing the main character and story, but when it moved it was hard to put it down. Mixed with the fantastic four because of the super powers. Then I found Rick had supported this book. I am now hooked on this new adventure and can not wait to read the next one.
Great, easy to read, fun. Just bought the book 2, would recommend giving Book 1 a try. The writing style is loved by the writers.
   Five Stars
My new favorite book of my daughter! And she is not a great reader, though this book-loving mother keeps trying.
It is well written and interesting. Not as good as Riordan, but a fascinating read. Young for 9 - 13 - year olds and those who remain great at heart.
Non stop action, Cliff Hangers and Mystères. Every minute of it, love! Normally, I don 't like Peter Lerangis'books, but this one I thoroughly enjoyed.
   Great story
This is a short story and a great read. Always looking for new books to spend a day off or time alone with no kids and this book does the trick.
   Great books for ages 8+!
He was introduced in school to these books and loves them!
