   If you are new with GERD and don’t know where to start, get this book.
I didn't know where to start with GERD as far as food choices as I was diagnosed with the disease recently. Thanks to this book, I was able to get started with my dream job. Gives you 3 day stop plan which means the ingredients you will use are good for your digestion and then follows with 4 weeks heal plan and after that give you 4 weeks to reintroduce some ingredients back in the recipes. I had to all my favorites tomatoes, onion, garlic,... but I have been introduced to eliminate a few new herbs which I didn't have any problem with. From health standpoint, I feel the difference, I have done the 3 days and finished week 1 so far, said Dr. Goin. But it is something I know I can keep up with. This is not a diet to lose weight or anything. Truly helps with rebuilding your gut. I only wish it would have featured the grocery list for each week.

   Helpful, good purchase
I just got this book and I'm using it along with a low carb diet. It has a very extensive list of what to eat and what not to eat which is helpful and says that after a certain amount of time you can start to rotate some of the eliminated foods back in. Normally all a person with reflux symptoms is to be told to do is to avoid chocolate, tomato products, caffeine, spicy foods and alcohol. This is much more information and I highly recommend the book based on the lists. I haven't read it cover to cover yet, but I know it will be a helpful guide. While skimming through it said not to eat sugar because its inflammatory, but there is a recipe for cinnamon sugar popcorn which includes 14 cups of sugar. I won't be using the meal plans because I'm going to eliminate most the fruit and bread that is recommended, but will use the list of what I can eat for low carb recipes.

   Great book: clear explanation, enlightening, helped heal reflux and more
This book is great. Some good information and that really opened my understanding to reflux, and how our diet contributes to that and other health issues, Dr. Goin said. I followed the plan closely and healed my reflux—and lost 25 lbs.—without ever taking an antacid or PPI. The majority of the book is an eating plan with recipes. You have to be dedicated to follow the guidelines, he said. But it's completely worth it if it leads to better health, general wellness and a new perspective on what we put into our bodies.
