The artwork is wonderful and the author's story really helps me to understand
I decided to purchase this book after reading it for school. The author's story helps me understand the artwork and it is wonderful. There is a box that hit home for me. He thought people needed a bigger holocaust. Do we really need that to be able to comprehend what happened to the innocent people?

Dreadful, brilliant, heart-breaking, and disturbingly honest.
The important things that I have said about this text are better said by better critics. This book will remind people like me that it did happen. It was just as bad as you can imagine. It will not be possible to remove this stain from our history. We only have to acknowledge it. The fact that there are multiple ongoing genocides in the world suggests that we still have a long way to go before we can say that nothing like the Holocaust will ever happen again.

Very moving depiction of the holocaust by the author.
Many school districts have banned this book. I wanted to read the book to make my own opinion on the book. This book shouldn't be banned. It should be read in its entirety. It is a depiction of the holocaust in a graphic novel style. It won a Pulitzer Prize.

The author uses his talent to tell a story about what happened to his family. I did not want to put the book down because of the novel and art work.

   A Masterpiece
My son was assigned this book when he was 13 years old. His school included it in his middle school curriculum. I read it with him so I could discuss it with him. I was glad I did. This book is amazing. It is a shame that we have so many battles in our democracy. This is a must read. My son is a freshman at a major university now that he read this at 13 Education is very important.

   A power important graphic novel
An amazing novel. It's an important teaching tool for children to learn about history. This book has been banned by school boards in backwards states.

Perfect intro to teaching Holocaust to middle grade readers
The book is a perfect introduction to teaching The Holocaust, unlike the idiots in Tennessee. Trying to ban a book is dangerous and egregious. Did you mean on the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz? They are not being subtle at all. The book is very important and valuable. Everyone should read that.

Wonderful way to help kids understand what happened!
I kept these books in my classroom for a long time. I put them in my bookshelf because I didn't say anything. My students would ask me questions when they pull it out. It was a good way to start the discussion. They are banning books here. They pulled this one in one district. I just bought it again because of that! A banned book will get more students reading.
