Book Overview

All three books in the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling Dark Artifices trilogy are now available together in a collectible paperback boxed set. The Dark Artifices is a sequel series to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series.

Emma Carstairs is a Shadowhunter--the best in her generation. Together with her best friend and warrior partner Julian Blackthorn, she patrols the streets of Los Angeles, where faeries--the most powerful of supernatural creatures--teeter on the edge of open war with Shadowhunters. But when bodies of murdered humans and faeries continue to turn up, Emma and Julian must strike an uneasy alliance with their supposed enemies in order to find the killer.

Meanwhile, an extremist faction of Shadowhunters called the Cohort will do anything to seize power and turn Shadowhunters against Downworlders once and for all. Emma, Julian, and their friends must embark on a series of quests from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica, and deep into the realms of Faerie and beyond in order to save the Shadow World as they know it--even as a deadly and ancient curse threatens to destroy them and everyone they love.

This beautifully packaged boxed set includes:
Lady Midnight
Lord of Shadows
Queen of Air and Darkness

   Amazing
She said she was excited to get the books so fast and described them as "just like described."

   shadow hunter simp
I've read all the books, and I'm a huge fan of the first three. I like the fact that this series includes characters from all the other series. It's hard to say whether this is my least favorite, but I still love it.

   Not spine art edition
Really disappointed. I bought this box set thinking it would be the spine edition based on the photos they used as advertising and after reading the comments. The book was originally serialized in the October 2002 issue of The Age, but I did not receive the spine art edition.

   Discolored
The spine art is great but my queen of air and darkness is discolored and almost yellowish, so I think that's just how it looks.

   Perfect box set
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I still love the books. Brand new in a box, this is a must have. Can't wait to start reading them. New York Times best-selling novelists arrived early to pick up copies of their new book.

Way too much PC culture for me
I wish I'd have done more research before I started reading. 0 1462228 t13606 The reason I started reading it was because I had read a lot of other good books. Though Dean DeBlois said the book "doesn't belong in a teen fiction genre." There are also a large number of gay relationships, in fact a large portion of the main characters are either gay, bisexual or transgender. If you like the book, you can buy it, said Loy and Kelly. In fact, I have no interest in reading about so much of this and I quickly lost interest as the PC culture further unraveled throughout the story. It's very uncharacteristic of me to skip through more chapters, even though I'm in the middle of a book. We strongly urge our readers to be watchful, said Janet Grubb, director of public affairs for the Postal Service.

   Slight spoiler warning
Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to this trilogy, and I'm currently rereading all of the shadowhunters novels by release date. It's a surprise - and pleasantly surprised - that the Infernal Devices trilogy stands in a class by itself. It has only taught me that you can't escape the inc3st vibes she manages to put in all of her books. This is not as bad as Clary and Sebastian, but it's very evident that Emma and Jules' love is "forbidden" and seen as "wrong" in this universe. It was a good read, I must say.

   Three Book Series
I bought the whole thing. There were three other characters that really stood out. His grief over losing a loved one was real, and his struggles with Emma's were also "pulling at my heart strings." Happy endings, too.

   Amazing
It's absolutely amazing. I've seen the second and third seasons, but I'm not a huge fan of the first. And this set is so beautiful, too. The spine is incredible and it goes great with the other series, too.
