Well researched
Derived From Web , Dec 18, 2020
There is a wealth of background material here that sheds light on the life and work of Malcolm X. From early childhood onwards, context is everything, and the Paynes, through interviews with people who were present at the time, flesh out the context. Overall, it is a significant contribution to the literature about a very important twentieth century historical figure.

Excellent Biography Of A Civil Rights Icon.
Derived From Web , Nov 6, 2020
I found this book very informative on the life of Malcolm X. The author did a lot of research and the writing style made for an easy read, Morgenthau said. The book comes across as very candid. On some subjects the autobiography differs from what his research uncovered. What made Malcolm X such a fascinating person was his life story. It's fairly common knowledge that he led a far different life as a youth than he did when he was released by a judge. What I found most interesting were the details of the murder and the animosity that ultimately contributed to it. The book also details most of the participants in the assassination and some information on law enforcement infiltration into Malcolm's organization. If you want to read and learn about one of the most influential civil rights leaders in history, I highly recommend this book. Not just in the United States, as he traveled and was both influential and influenced, he left a mark on the world.
