This is great if you're a fan of Wings of Fire or other dragon books, and you're okay with a bit of violence. There never was an issue following the story. The whole Wings of Fire plot is not as good as the paperback books. There is nothing left out except for the details that couldn't be put in the new format. The artwork is why this two stars are there. The artwork is done by someone who can't draw dragons, and it's obvious because of how weird it is. A lot of the time, the style of it takes away from the enjoyment of the book- eyes are drawn to the wrong things, poses are off, and it just doesn't look right. I only read it once because the scenes don't hit as well as they could in the novel. This is fine if you just want the story and don't care for the artwork, but if you want to enjoy a well drawn graphic novel that makes your eyes happy, this isn't it.

Lesbian dragon characters are introduced in later books in the series. These are children's novels, and they are out of place. After my children started to like the series, we found this out. I don't recommend starting this series if you prefer sexual orientation to be left out.

Great books! Great pictures!
Derived From Web , Dec 21, 2020
My 8 year old hates reading and I love these books. She likes the pictures, but she's reading too. It's above her reading level, so they have several words she's not familiar with. She gets most of the meanings from pictures. At first, we read a lot of it together. The print is small and hard to read. The books are quite long and the story has layers with a little bit of back and forth between character plots and time or dreams that could confuse some kids. She seemed to know most of this. There are a lot of fight scenes and sacasm in some movies that may be lost on younger kids.

The best part of the story is that it shows how to push when you are in slavery and how clay can keep you alive. You need to read this book, I rate it a 10.

You will NOT regret buying this!!
Derived From Web , Nov 27, 2020
We have to get those 20 minutes in because my son hates to read. Wings of Fire Graphic Novels are now available. No more complaining. I told my son to read the next chapter book so he could find out what happened since they have not made one for each book in the series. He had been reading since September. He got his little brother to read them too. If you want to get young boys interested in reading, you will not regret buying this series. !

Transitions from book to graphic novel can be difficult, but this is not disappointment. I liked the design and the faithfulness to the original source.

AWESOME
Derived From Web , Feb 4, 2019
The first book in the series was checked out by most of my class, who were completely obsessed with it, and became hooked. I asked my mom to look at the graphic novel version of it. I had to read this first because my school loves this series so much, the only books in the library were 5, 7 and 10. A kid in my class finished the book on the day I decided to check it out. I could place the second one on hold, but it would take a few months before the book arrived.

NOT FOR KIDS, BUT AMAZING
Derived From Web , Aug 6, 2018
The art style of this novel is amazing and the characters are lovable. I want to warn parents that the book is about dragons. There are a lot of mature themes, like abuse and gore. This is an easy 10 out of 10.
